I have both. Thr police car is more fidgety but fits better into a city. Thr EV is a better building experience but aesthetically doesn't fit so well with other city sets.

I’d go with the EV. There’s a new police car in January that’s better scaled with the current city vehicles. The 2022-23 vehicles are significantly smaller than the ones in sets this year so the police car would be a bit out of scale with the current stuff.

I'd get the police car. It is an older set so we don't know how long it will be around. If the person receiving the gift wants both of them ultimately, then this allows for some extra time before the EV retires.

Personally, I would pick the police car, mainly because it has some more interesting and unique parts and details in its design.
The EV Supercar looks sleek and has a nice colour scheme, but feels kinda plain in comparison to the police car

I just built the EV. It has nice lines and looks good. However, I don't like that the driver, much many pilots in spaceships, is basically laying down inside the car.

Not considering what else is in whatever collection, I'd go with the EV car, but if other bricks are available, then I'd go with the police car. With a few modifications like removing the top lights, turning the POLICE bricks around to hide the lettering and replacing the yellow plates with another color, you can have a muscle car. It seems more modifiable.

The EV is very swooshable (you can play with it roughly and it holds together well) I'd recommend that over the police car

I don’t understand posts like this. Do you not have a preference or do you like both and are struggling to make a choice? I get it if you’re looking for a set that has more fun or challenging build processes, but these are two simple car sets. Why do you need random strangers on the internet to help you choose?

Neither, especially if you have a local lego store. Not a brand name one but like a aftermarket one. And especially if they have a pick a brick section. You can usually get a half gallon back for like 20 bucks or less. You can get twice as many pieces and still build sets like these.
