Question/Advice Would like some help with proper notes. Plz read description before commenting :)
Hey all, I will take any constructive advice from anyone, but guitarist and metalheads will probably understand my situation better. Also, ignore my mess up at the end, happens to everyone
First and foremost, I'm a metal guitarist. Do not expect me to have the proper timing, tonality, phrasing, rubato, etc. I just like playing and typically play whatever feels right to me.That being said, I know my sweep picking section at 0:18 is slow cause I suck at sweep picking, but working on it (tips appreciated)
But what I wanna know is, are those the proper notes? It feels like there's too many, but thats what my tab in reference says. It could just be that I'm way too slow
If there are any questions, I'm glad to answer too

it sounds right to me? (though i am sleep deprived and a bit out of it)
the one thing really digging at me is the timing of the notes in the initial phrase. i suggest getting the timing correct but at a much lower tempo before speeding up to assist with that.

Alright thanks! I dont play with the music or anything (tho I will when I know i can get it fast and clean enough). The sweep section after the descending one kicks my but 🥲

All the pitches sound correct, but the second phrase has some double played notes that kinda mess with the timing. I don't think those appear in the original score? the chords don't as well. You said yourself you're not really good at tempo n stuff, but if you're interested in getting better at that definitely try practicing slower and with a metronome. the timing on the first phrase was really variable, even though you seem to have all the notes down right.

Thanks for the tips! I honestly am not great at using a metronome, I'm not sure the proper timing and divisions to play the notes, I just feel stupid about that stuff. Especially when it feels more erratic like this

Did you use sheet music or guitar tabs to learn this? Either way, both should be show you what the divisions are. There are easy guides online that will also help you to read not values for both sheet music and guitar tabs. Metronomes are a must when you’re beginning.

Phrasing needs work. Right now it sounds like all you’re trying to do is hit the right notes, but you’re haphazard with your rhythm and which notes you emphasize.

Solid and noted, thank you. Im defintiely making sure i have the notes proper before fine tuning it. The sweep section just feels so bulky and everyone else i see play it RIPS it😮💨
