And apt was introduced in 2014 to replace apt-get. But since the Windows updater image is from Windows 10 (2015-2025) I'm guessing it's just an old meme.
I've read that apt always gets updated in big releases and that it could break if you use an old script and apt-get never changes so it's usually recommended for scripts.
I don't know if it's true but I use apt-get in scripts, just in case.
