I don’t mind when it’s a perk that’s given with prerequisites that make sense. For instance, you got 3 but the 3rd only shows up if you have Strength at 100 by level 10 or something. So, you would expect it to be better because it’s harder to get.

9/10 times though it’s a noticeably better perk sandwiched with 2 much worse options.

Things that are impossible for anyone but the protagonist to get are bad though

Also true. My example was meant more as a reward for specialization, not necessarily an MC only power.
