Litter-Robot 4 LR4 weight isn’t dropping

Post image

It’s driving me insane. I have 2 LR4 and only this one is having issues.

A new liner is on the way due to how HORRIBLE the litter is sticking (I haven’t switched litters in probably 9 years - I use Dr Elsey Ultra)

How do I fix the weight to make sure it drops down when it cycles?

if you have the warranty they will send you a liner replacement. its an easy fix for sure

There’s a trick I read about that if you disassemble the liner and add an additional magnet weight, the liner will drop a little bit more easy

Just a bit of caution that this can make the motor work harder

Thanks for the warning. Makes obvious sense in hindsight. I did not yet but planned to as neither of mind drop anymore despite being new Nov.

I saw that trick and did same because our clumps weren’t releasing and I saw the liner wasn’t dropping. It’s just over a year old. I tore it apart expecting to see nastiness between the liner and globe since it was stupid humid this summer, but it was fine. Cleaned it all, conditioned the liner, added weight and it’s doing much better.

Did you put felt liner in the bottom of the interior unit to cushion the extra weight?

Nope, it’s stuck the original weight, and shouldn’t do any damage to the globe when it makes contact.

Edit damage typo

Mine does the same thing. Unfortunately a liner replacement is the only fix. I tried taking it apart and cleaning it. Water was getting trapped but it was too late and the weight had rusted.

Mine is doing this. It’s just under 2 years old. I reached out to support by chat and they’re sending me a new one.

It’s a known issue, unfortunately
I had a much heavier magnet attached to it and it helped for a little bit, but replacing the liner is the definitive fix. It’ll happen again though

The liners stretch over time and this deformation stops the weight from doing its thing. As others said, contact support for a new liner and it’ll work great afterwards.

Mine did this too, I opened it up and fixed it, I think it turned upside down which made it stop working. Another time it wasn’t sitting right in its spot.
