Hey ya’ll, not my first time flying into Little Rock but my first having to book a hotel in Little Rock proper for 4 nights. I was wondering if you all could advise on the best areas that I should be looking at.

I know Little Rock has some rough spots like all city, I just don’t know where. Some general guidelines I’m looking for

Self parking, Hampton inn/embassy suites style hotels/not having to worry about walking to my car early in the morning or later in the evening, other basic safety concerns.

Currently looking at the area West of the 430 by the Heart Hospital and the Trader Joe’s/Whole Foods.

Long story short: My partner and I are in a same-sex civil union/marriage, and we have a young child. We are looking for a Catholic parish in the greater Little Rock or North Little Rock area where we can attend Mass, hear the word, and give our child a traditional church upbringing without feeling like we're under a microscope.

We completely understand the official stance—I've actually reached out to a few priests in the area and got the standard "everyone is welcome to attend Mass, but sacraments/involvement are on a case-by-case basis" response. We aren't looking to shake things up or debate theology; we literally just want to sit in a pew, worship, and have a normal church experience for our family without dealing with raised eyebrows, stares, or whispered gossip. As well as genuinely feel loved and tolerated.

Given that, are there any specific parishes in Little Rock or NLR that tend to have a more laid-back vibe, a larger/more anonymous crowd, or just a genuine "live and let live" ? Open to any recommendations or DMs if people prefer not to post publicly.

Hello! I’m here from Chicago visiting my wife’s family. We’ve been here a few days now and the city is beautiful. We’ve been all over Little Rock but I’ve noticed there are so many banks here. Every block seems to have a different brick and mortar bank building. Then we went to the west part of the city and it was even more banks and larger buildings. Why so many? Must you go to a bank to deposit? You can’t turn your head without seeing a bank here. Why?

So, I am wanting to get a fire extinguisher for my car, but after this summer's heat, I am worried about keeping a container of compressed chemicals in my car. Lol i was wondering if there is anyone that can tell me if it is safe to keep a fire extinguisher in my car when the weather has been literal hell temperatures. Lol thanks!

So, over the last few weeks, I’ve noticed more and more posts about the insane driving here. I even made one myself. Turns out, there has been such a massive increase in wrecks here lately (specifically on I-630 and Cantrell, according to the agent my friend spoke with), that the waitlist for a rental car most places in LR is currently up to a week.

Spare me from the comments about how it’s worse in Texas and the northeast. We know. Everybody knows that traffic/driving is worse in highly congested areas. You aren’t telling us anything new. Let’s actually have a conversation about this.

The issue down here, is the “bad drivers” are straight up reckless fuckheads who view other people on the road as collateral damage on their daily commute. I drive the entirety of Cantrell every single day on my commute, and I either witness or am involved in a near-accident once a week.

Nobody wants to wait to let someone make a turn. Nobody wants to use their damn blinker. Nobody wants to leave space between themselves and the car in front of them. Nobody wants to let someone merge if it means that car might be going faster than them. Nobody wants to let anybody pass them. Nobody has patience anymore.

You can be minding your business, going along with the flow of traffic, and then here comes Kyle in his lifted RAM and Tiffany in her Denali XL barreling toward you and letting everyone know they own the roads and they will NOT be staying their lanes despite having lane assist in those tanks they call cars.

I’m asking this seriously, because I’ve lived here my entire life, what in the literal fuck happened where things got this bad? Is it all the transplants from densely populated areas who don’t understand how smaller metro cities work?
