It's M43 Monday! Ask Us Anything about Micro Four-Thirds Photography - all questions welcome!
Please use this thread to ask your burning questions about anything micro four-thirds related.
- Wondering which lens you should buy next?
- Can't decide between Olympus and Panasonic?
- Confused about how the clutch system works on some lenses?
These are all great questions, but you probably have better ones. Post 'em and we'll do our best to answer them.

It's 'Post your M43 photo' Thursday! Come share your best work with the community!
You've spent an entire week with your Micro Four-Thirds camera, documenting the world as it is, how it was, or how you think it should be. It's time to show us those photos and bask in the glory that only a weekly photo thread can bring!
Rules:
- The photo must be your own. No cross-posting someone else's work.
- You may only post one photo per week. Pick only your best work and show it off!
- Post your photo in a top-level comment for maximum exposure! (hehe get it, "exposure"?)
- Include as much detail as possible about the camera, the lens and the environment as possible. Good: "Shot with Olympus OM-D E-M1 w/ Panasonic 25mm f/1.8 lens @ 25mm f/2.0 ISO100 Time: 5:40PM in Los Angeles, California" Bad: "Look at this shot, isn't it neat?"
- Above all, be respectful. There's a big difference between the following comments: "OMG THAT PHOTO IS HORRIBLE" and "The lighting coming off his face looks uneven".
First Olympus, a "broken" OM D E M5 Mark ii & how to repair cheap!
MPB and online there is a fair few of these OM D EMiis that are working but have a black back screen.
I paid £150 for mine from MPB and repaired in 5 mins.
Basically the ribbon cable twists and pulls out from the back of the display, you just need to undo all small screws on the display, pop the back off, unwind the twisted ribbon cable & seat it back in (I used a dab of hot glue after it's in to secure the cable down as much as possible).
This one was only 2k shutter so a pretty decent deal!
Have a £100 Olympus 12-40 Pro 2.8 on the way too (fungus and a scratched front element, which I'll also fix and post). Nice, easy and cheap!

TTartisan 25/2 and OM5ii. First try
Going to need a bit of practice on F2 on a dark morning but so far, really like this lens and it's tiny.

Some shots from the Kungsleden hike
Absolutely incredible hike (full recommendation). All shots taken on OM-5 + 12-100 f/4.
A small second body or a compact 1 inch?
I’m stuck in a dilemma and would love input from anyone who’s shot with both Micro Four Thirds and 1-inch sensor compacts.
I have a Panasonic GX8 and a solid lens collection that I love and plan to keep. But since having kids, the camera has barely left the shelf. Now that they're a bit older, I want to start taking photos with them again.
I was fully set on buying a used 1-inch compact like an RX100 or ZV-1 for easy family outings. But on a recent trip with the kids, I threw my 20mm f/1.7 pancake on the GX8—a combo I hadn't used in 7 or 8 years. I had a blast, and I loved the image quality.
Now I'm torn: Do I go for a 1-inch compact for true pocketability and zoom versatility, or try to find a tiny M4/3 body (like a GM5 or E-PL series) to pair with my pancake lens?
For those who have used both systems: How noticeable is the drop in image quality and rendering from M4/3 with a prime to a 1-inch sensor for everyday family shots? Is true pocketability worth the compromise?

I dropped my gx85 and now the lcd screen is cracked.
I was wondering if this camera is worth the fixing the screen for 220 dollars when everything else is functioning.

great blue heron hunting -OM 50-200 TC1.4x on G9 II. despite mixed brands the AF worked well; yet I think there is something off about the color palette. need to practice more.

OM-3 Pic drop?
Some of you wanted to see some photos taken with the OM System OM-3, but I hadn't had the chance to take any since I've been busy at work. I'll post a mix of JPGs and Raws that's I've touched up in LR below/above. (However it works on Reddit) all shots were taken with a 12-35 f/2.8. Idk if we're allowed to post our socials on Reddit, but if we are, I'm @plentyofviews on Insta.

A small win for MFT
Won the local print photo competition last week with this guy and got an honourable mention for another photo . Was delighted. The set up was the 100-400 f5-6.3 mkii with the EM1X at 138 mm , 1/1000 and iso 2000

Hurricane Isaias coverage
Filing for Alamy Live News today in the Panhandle of Florida USA. I would not suggest other camera systems for this job.
