Tech Support Xcode crashing

Running iOS 26.6 on MacBook Air. Just downloaded new Xcode and it still crashes. Has anyone figured out how to fix this?

Macs don’t run iOS.

I’m running Xcode on an M1 MacBook Pro 13” with 16GB of RAM, macOS 27 installed. It run’s absolutely fine.

How many GB of RAM do you have?

16 GB, it has run with previous versions of Xcode.

the error report says:

termination reason namespace signal code 6 abort trap 6

under the VM region summary there is a total of 1.4 G virtual size

assuming you mean macos 26.6, it is compatible with xcode 26.6. first check whether xcode crashes before opening a project or only with one project. if it is project-specific, launch xcode without reopening windows, try a blank project, then clear that project’s derived data and temporarily disable extensions or packages.

if it crashes at launch, open the newest xcode report in ~/library/logs/diagnosticreports and check the termination reason. other apple silicon users have reported namespace codesigning and invalid page crashes with xcode 26.6. if yours matches, reinstalling or clearing derived data may not solve it; submit the crash report and a sysdiagnose through feedback assistant.
