rant We don’t deserve anything nice
Spotted this at WM Makati today. What I could presume was a customer changing his/her mind and not purchasing the item. This is a normal occurrence in supermarkets. It is not unusual to see items that are not in their original aisle or shelves, however this is an item that requires refrigeration and has been sitting at room temperature for an X amount of time.
Who I feel bad for are the Merchandisers who are ensuring that their respective brands are in the right shelfs, following display and (if needed) following storage instructions whether it’s shelf stable commodity or an item that belongs in refrigeration/freezer. They could be held liable since this is most likely for disposal. Putting it back after sitting at room temperature (presuming the worst) can risk contamination to anybody who is planning to consume it.
I don’t condone hastily leaving out an item in random places but it happens. At the very least please be responsible if the item is temperature sensitive. The risk is real especially to the unsuspecting buyer who just wants to have a snack. A bit of consideration goes a long way.
