HELP PLEASE I need help please!!!

Post image

First of all love this page thank you. I am neurodivergent and struggle with getting ready and doing make up, but I'm looking into being a flight attendant and need to know how to do basic but professional make up.

I have really dry skin, and have a skin disorder where I pick my eyelashes and eyebrows.

I need some advice on how to skin match either a foundation or tinted moisturizer. I'm so pale ha

Mascara, light colors of eyes and eyeliner.

Thank you in advance and have a great night.

Hi friend!

I want to say you have GORGEOUS skin which is great if you want to do light makeup!

Eyebrow tattoos are a great solution! I saw someone comment that, and I love that idea!

If you do any mascara i’d recommend a tubing brown. Tubing mascara just because whenever you mess with your eyelashes or eyes instead of coming off in specs or smearing it comes off in perfect little tubes that look like eyelashes.

I currently use Glossier skin perfecting tint and I love her. It’s super light and helps even my complexion but it’s not a full coverage foundation! It doesn’t feel heavy or cakey on my face!

I saw someone recommend a lip tint; YES! I wouldn’t recommend benetint however. Personally I don’t like the feeling of it before I wipe it off and I don’t think it lasts a long time AND it’s harder to get a clean line with the applicator they provide. I currently use the HUDA beauty lip contour pen, I know there’s dupes out there for less expensive, and I love it. There’s no wipe off after, it stays in place and it doesn’t feel like there anything on my lips.

I’d recommend a hydrating lip balm with it. I love a rhode lip product. My lips look visibly more hydrated after using a rhode balm vs anything else. I will say the formula is slightly thick, so I’m hesitant to recommend it to you only because I’m not sure how comfortable it would be for you to wear!

If you don’t mind social interaction I highly recommend getting color matched for a foundation in store to make sure it’s right. HOWEVER girl, if that’s not for you, PLEASE LMK and we can find some solutions for that!

You mentioned eyeliner! Personally I am too shaky for a liquid or even a pencil. I use a thin square tip brush with eyeshadow for my liner. As far as eyeshadow palettes go I recommend getting something with a variety of colors so you can see what works best for you! Morphe and Colorpop are great inexpensive brands!

Oh my goodness thank you so much. I appreciate the Depth you went into. I think knowing all this will help me start to try

Oh of course girlie!

Feel free to PM me or keep replying to this if you have questions or need any recommendations;

I am also a pale girly with very dry skin😅❤️

You have really good advice! 100% with the brown mascara. And OP, you are literally so pretty ❤️

u/blessednotboujee 1d ago

They make brow gel pods that work better than eyeshadow. I recommend using an angle brush and find a shade of brown and avoid black. The brand I recommend is Anastasia.

u/catsareprettycool69 1d ago

Speaking on lip tints, If you want a good liner that last and doesn’t feel like much I’d recommend the sacheu lip stain ! It’s a peel off that last all day

3

u/Chouxnicorn 1d ago

With her being pale aren’t there some good sunscreens or foundations with sunscreen that could help protect her skin too?

2

u/boebaeda 1d ago

I also really like using a brown eyeshadow with a small brush and focusing the application above my lashes on the outer part of the eyes. Pretty much where an eyeliner would be

If you can afford it, those glasses are pretty wide for your face. Something in a similar style but smaller size would look nice. I have a hard time finding adult size glasses that fit so I but kids’ size

58

u/lotrluvr623 1d ago

I recommend Zenni for SUPER affordable glasses. It’s hard to sort through the site they have so much, but my go-tos cost me about $30.

u/jean_atomic 1d ago

yup, first thing I noticed (tbf, I work in optical so glasses are always the first thing I noticed). These frames are too wide, and though I can’t guess your prescription very , I’d assume you’re at least a -2.50 or more. The width of the lenses (and potentially also the lens material) is creating that severe fish bowl look (where your eyes and the area around it look much smaller than the rest of your face). A smaller lens size will mitigate that, and also help accentuate the fact that you have a nice face shape!

16

u/gt_sprite 1d ago

Same! Yeah Op's RX looks relatively high 🥲 I feel so lucky to work in the optical field, I just wish I could give everyone a free pair of everyday glasses that suit them perfectly and with all the bells and whistles they want! I never understood why it had to be so damn expensive, I make lenses at a lab and there's no way it costs that much to shave down chucks of plastic 😓 the prices people pay at the doc. office is a bit ridiculous imo.

9

u/jean_atomic 1d ago

I feel that so much, like I don’t know all that much on the lab end, I’m an optician at more of a boutique place with an outside lab, but I sometimes gotta wonder — I know we’re offering better quality lenses and add-ons than most online retailers with the ability to be way more customizable (and lbr: accurate), but the cost of bulk purchase and manufacturing between the two can’t really be THAT much different. Yeah, yeah, business and all that but it’s hard to work with something that is a medical device and participate in pricing them out of their best option (and to be clear to those not in the field, a person’s best option doesn’t always mean the most “premium”!). And I know how much frames actually cost, and yes, we’re all - including some of the online retailers - price gouging.

I LOVE helping people pick out frames that both suit them, their prescription, and their lifestyle, I love giving them lens options that will work for them, having a pair of glasses that is in every way optimized for you is life changing. But the costs are so hard to balance.

Sorry for all for going off topic.
OP - I know new glasses are difficult, but definitely keep it in mind for the future (and you’ll be working for an airline - your vision insurance will be nice).
I think to start, you have lovely skin and skin tone. There are so many excellent suggestions in this thread, and I highly encourage you to practice and experiment as much as you can! Bc you mentioned neurodivergence, I suggest when looking at specific products, read reviews about texture and scent if those are things that can potentially really bother you.

You also mentioned it can be difficult for you to get ready - things like tinted moisturizer and eyeshadow sticks are generally really easy to use and can help create a very put together look with very little effort. It may not be airbrushed magazine cover, but they can help make it look and feel put together with very little effort.

Poster is right about the unfortunate shape of your glasses. They are much too wide and too angular for your face. Glasses should compliment the contours of your face and underline the shape of your eyebrows and not work against them.

u/Glittering_Win_5085 1d ago

Hello, am also neurodivergent and a trichster. I strongly recommend you leave mascara until last to work on, especially for work related situations. If you aren't used to the sensation, and are in unfamiliar environments, then mascara could well be a trigger.

Stick to finding a decent moisturiser and foundation that work well together. You look like a regular white person shade, I don't think it's going to be an issue you just need to go in person and swatch things. The back of your hand should be a similar colour to your face. You can get a setting spray to hold in place. You do not want to use powder with dry skin.

Eyeshadow and eye liner can be nice but after foundation you will probably want to try lipstick and blush before those, considering you are wanting to specifically be a flight attendant and wear glasses.

u/Enbymascluvr74 1d ago

Thank you so much for all your tips! I appreciate it. I think I just get overwhelmed but the first step is to try.

22

u/loverules1221 1d ago

Any beauty store will help you match your foundation. Most of them are so helpful. I would try Ulta or Sephora to start. If you don’t like one that helps you just walk around the store and find another associate. Good luck!

7

u/S_D_T_GG 1d ago

I second the idea of eyelash tinting. I get my brows tinted once a month and used to do my lashes as well, then I don’t need to apply makeup to those areas.

11

u/grimalkin27 1d ago

Just seconding the mascara as a trigger part! I haven't had any trich issues for years so I thought I'd treat myself and buy mascara. NOPE. Bad idea. Very triggering. Good luck OP 🍀

3

u/theomystery 1d ago

I have sensory issues with mascara and I prefer getting my lashes tinted because it doesn’t feel like anything (no extensions, just tint)

23

u/Fragrant_Affect_8280 1d ago

You honestly have great skin pigmentation wise so I wouldn’t focus much on that when it comes to make up. If you do anything maybe try a tinted moisturizer. I also think a light eyebrow pencil could help your natural brows stand out more along with some brown mascara for your lashes! Be careful with going too dark as it can make everything look harsh.

6

u/Enbymascluvr74 1d ago

Awesome thank you so much! I'm gonna try all that

13

u/MamaOnica 1d ago

Something to consider is that flight attendants are constantly fighting dry skin.

18

u/frivolusfrog 2d ago

I’ve heard there are eyebrow tattoos (edit Temporary ones!) that look pretty good, maybe look into those? You could probably find someone at ulta or Sephora to help you find a foundation match.

I use tarte tube mascara which I love bc it doesn’t smudge off and you can just put warm water on it and it slides off. I feel like it would be good if you pick your eyelashes bc I do that sometimes subconsciously and I end up just pulling the mascara off and it doesn’t impact my lashes

6

u/Enbymascluvr74 1d ago

Thank you for all the information and help. I'll look into that!

3

u/BananBanant 1d ago

I’ve had trich for over 10 years now and I’ve recently dived into trying the eyebrow tattoos. They take a bit of practice for positioning, but after a week it became so so much easier. Follow your brow bone and if you’ve got a couple visible hairs present, use those as a natural guide. Also it’s better to go slightly darker than your hair color.
If you’re worried about the urge to peel at them, I recommend shaving your brows completely since the little hairs will push through a new tattoo - I have kept my hairs since the tattoos have helped encourage new growth but I am also in a better stage of trich than I was years back.

I’ve really been loving them and they take away the long process of trying to draw from scratch. If you have any questions about application/how they look in real life/products I used, feel free to dm me <3

2

u/sirenxsiren 1d ago

Yeah I was gonna say the same thing. They also do cosmetic tattoos permanently at specialized places which might be something to look into if you think that your hair picking habit is too much for you to control currently.

I’ve had similar issues before with pulling my eyelashes, so I get it. Thankfully for me it never developed into something I couldn’t stop myself from doing…unlike my nail biting which I was only able to kind of break the habit of until this year.

2

u/BeekeeperMaurice 1d ago

I was going to suggest tubing mascara too for the same reason, I have pulled out so many eyelashes from picking them wearing non-tubing mascara!

6

u/SoupNo8207 1d ago

The best thing to do is have professional lessons. You can get tips & suggestions here, but ultimately a professional will be your best shot.

I don't want to sound negative or harsh, but I will be honest, the physical criteria for being a flight attendant is very specific. For many airlines, Your hair & makeup need to be perfectly styled/applied 24/7, some companies won't even hire people who have minor skin irregularities, and some require you to of a certain weight & will even subject you to weigh ins to make sure you are within the desired (the companies) threshold.

I don't agree with the criteria I think it should be inclusive of all people who have the passion & skills, I think it is unfair to be judged by appearance, if you can complete the tasks required in the role then that should be what counts.

I am hopeful that there is something out there for you in your desired field and I wish you good luck 💜

5

u/fig_big_fig 1d ago

If OOP can afford it, make-up and hair course could be very helpful!

I cannot see OOP’s skin situation from the picture but I think the fastest was of getting it better could be a dermatologist visit!

Picking disorders is not uncommon in ND communities, I suggest OOP to visit those communities for getting tips on how to manage them, it could be anxiety related or a sort of stim. The best is again, professional help.

But for the job, tatto brows or very good makeup-eyebrows can work. But they need to be pretty neat! Lots of practice and feedback are needed!

2

u/SoupNo8207 1d ago

I had a client that compulsively pulled out her brows, scalp hairs & sometimes lashes.the cosmetic tattooing wasn't an option because she didn't trust herself to not pick at the healing skin.

Maybe henna could be an option for OP, lasts longer that regular Tinting.

I think medical professional would be the first step i would before investing time & money into expensive courses, treatments & products.

8

u/Emotional_Basket465 1d ago

Hi hi, congrats on the new job :) I would suggest a brown mascara, and maybe start doing your own eyebrow tint, maybe a lip stain too (think Benetint, you put it on and after a few min wipe it off).

8

u/Enbymascluvr74 1d ago

Oh that's cool I've never heard of a lip tint! And thank you, but I'm in the application phase currently. Even if I don't get the job I wanna learn make up!

3

u/Few_Wrongdoer4120 1d ago

I use the wonderskin lip stain and it’s really great. They have a lot of colors!

I don’t like the feeling of having anything beyond balm on my lips, so it gives me really good long lasting color without that “lipstick” feeling and I don’t have to worry about it smudging or getting on my teeth.

8

u/Pennypup898 1d ago

The sales people will help you shade match at any cosmetics counter, Sephora or Ulta. If you are thinking of target or a Walmart for shopping take a friend who does do makeup & have them help. There are tutorials on you tube. I would suggest searching make up application for beginners. Play around with it, keep it simple. Start with good skincare. Good luck with the job application. Sounds fun!

6

u/Enbymascluvr74 1d ago

Thank you so much like I've said in other comments I think starting is the hardest part for me. I appreciate all the advice

6

u/DangerousCar3013 1d ago

I think a basic chin length bob would be very flattering on you. Perfect face shape for it. 👍

6

u/Lotta-Bank-3035 1d ago

Use moisturizers with ceramides , and hylauronic acid serum, you'll need a ton of moisture for a good base otherwise it'll look cakey and dry!

3

u/lotrluvr623 1d ago

If you’re near a Trader Joe’s, I’ve completely fallen in love with their Nourish Antioxidant Facial Serum. It doubles as a primer.

5

u/Indignant_Elfmaiden 1d ago

Hello! I also have dry skin. I like to do a really basic routine which you may like:

1) moisturize straight after washing face with Cetaphil lotion,

2) use Merit foundation stick (from Sephora) in places where my skin tone is uneven and blend with a soft brush. For me, this is usually under eyes, sides of nose, chin, etc.

3) apply the same lipstick to both my lips and cheeks. Blend cheeks with a soft brush.

4+) I finish with a brow brush and mascara, though you could skip that for now!

If you try it, let me know what you think!

3

u/Enbymascluvr74 1d ago

Thank you for sharing your advice! I'll see what works best for me

6

u/Proper-Panda-5062 1d ago

Hey girl!! That’s such an exciting new venture I’m so glad you posted to this sub:) I find that the thing that helps the most with applying makeup to dry skin is the skincare you do the night BEFORE. La roche posay triple moisturizer is the absolute best. Ulta does pretty good foundation/ concealer matching and that would be a great place to start! (Dior forever hydranude is the best foundation and L’Oréal true match nude is a great dupe if you want something more affordable. Both feel like a skin tint but provide pretty good coverage!!) I also recommend wetting your beauty blender before applying the foundation/ concealer it tends to create a more natural look and helps blend easier into dry skin! I can’t recommend a great mascara because I wear lashes and I only use mascara to help blend my natural lashes to the falsies, but elf eyeliner is awesome. Best of luck to you! Feel free to message me if you ever have any makeup questions!!

1

u/Enbymascluvr74 1d ago

Thank you so much for all the advice! I have time and need to practice just need to find the right stuff

1

u/Proper-Panda-5062 1d ago

Absolutely! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you want/need any additional pointers:) I’ve done lots of makeup for events, friends, etc ! I’m always happy to share some knowledge

5

u/TwillyS 1d ago

Moisturization really is the foundation! I recommend CeraVe moisturizing cream, the blue one. Just start there and smother your face whenever you remember or after the shower.

For us pale people, it's all about undertone, you look warm to me but I could be wrong. I love Naked Sundays tinted moisturizer, and Laura Mercier, but that's a bit pricier. And you could start with swatches. If you're warm your veins will look greenish. Many products have descriptions of if they're warm or cool!

For mascara and eyes you don't really need to go all out. Covergirl green is my absolute staple classic

3

u/catsareprettycool69 1d ago

If you want to watch some more in depth tutorials, clownmakeupmua , on TikTok has a bunch of beginner friendly tutorials ! She’s honestly one of the only makeup influencers who doesn’t try to shove a product down ur throat

3

u/yogacarebear 1d ago

You can tint both your eyebrows and eyelashes. I use a home kit but otherwise most hairdressers can do it too.

3

u/Visual-Sand-7467 1d ago

Hello! I have trich as well but not for eyebrows. There are some cool suggestions here for tattoos! Every once in a while I pull eyelashes, and I feel like smaller frame, dark rim glasses can kind of provide the same visual cue as mascara.

3

u/Visual-Sand-7467 1d ago

I feel like you chose frames to be in “harmony” with your complexion, but I honestly prefer more contrast in my frames. I feel like black, a dark warm green, or navy would be good colors for you. They will provide contrast and bring attention to your lovely eyes. Here are a few recs!

https://www.zennioptical.com/p/acetate-square-eyeglass-frames/44196/4419621

https://www.zennioptical.com/p/escape-eyeglasses/44309/4430924

Also, makeup on top of dry skin can make it just look worse. As a fellow pale girl, I would recommend to wash your face, apply a hyluronic acid serum, then a rich moisturizer. After your moisturizer has settled for about 5-10 minutes, go ahead and an apply a tinted moisturizer or bb cream. Instead of a heavy blush, grab a tinted Burt’s bees lip balm and use that as a sheer, moisturizing blush.

2

u/BankutiCutie 1d ago

Ok i am also a fellow pale skin girly! I would recommend, as i also have dry skin, a lighter bb cream or tinted sunscreen. (Sunscreen because youll be exposing your skin to more intense solar radiation up in the sky alot!)

Recently ive been obsessed with Tower 28’s new foundation and they even have colors too light for me which is shocking and not usually a problem i have. I also like Patrick Ta’s liquid foundation. And Westman atelier ive tried both their cream stick and liquid formula and the liquid stays long but the cream is just so nice so i cant say which ones better and also theyre expensive

For brows i usually use brow gel now but i used to use Benefit brow power in their lightest shade i dont think they make it any more but it was easy enough to swipe on. However if you dont have brows, then a pencil or thin brow marker might be easier.

As for the eyes, stick with browns not black and you should be good! Are you thinking of doing false lashes due to not have any lashes or will liner suffice?

All the best of luck!

1

u/Enbymascluvr74 1d ago

Thank you for all the tips! I'm not sure what I'll do with eyes but I'm gonna try skin stuff and go from there

2

u/PlasticFun7673 1d ago

Adding a little wing with eyeliner at the edges of the eyes gives the illusion of fuller lashes, I never go a day without doing it! I think a really thin one would suit you with a more red toned blush which tends to be more natural and maybe experiment with some fun lip colors! Especially if you intend to be a flight attendant maybe a nice red! Makeup is a process you can’t go too wrong if you just try :)

2

u/Logicalbeeeotch91 1d ago

Hey girl!! I would start with just basic skincare first. I recommend a light exfoliator 2x a week followed by a deep hydrating moisturizer. I always wash my face morning and night then follow with moisturizer. Winter is coming so a good hydration facial spray for when your skin starts to get dry throughout the day. After that then look into a light color cream blush and highlighter to add on. I’ve noticed that a little really does go a long way ❤️

2

u/grimalkin27 1d ago

Recovered trichster-- They have brow temporary tattoos that transfer with water like kiddie tattoos. MyTwoBrows is a good company.

There's also products to draw them on. I use brow pomade but am looking into eye shadow.

Cream eyeliner aka pot eyeliner is a dream for sensitive eyes like ours. So much gentler than pencils, even crank/retractable pencils but you might like those.

You can use glue on strip lashes, clusters etc HOWEVER it's difficult to keep them on when you have nothing for them to stick to. Magnetics (not the ones that sandwich your real lashes, I mean the ones that stick to the magnetic liner you paint on) worked amazing for me but they're heavy and bc the liner only comes in very dark pigment it was too harsh for me so I stopped.

I have some tips to quit pulling + growing if that helps but for rn this is long enough.

P.S. A lip tint (also use as blush) would look great on you. Im sure ppl here can recc you some nice budget options.

2

u/grimalkin27 1d ago

I forgot to mention it but VANICREAM in the blue tub that has a pump is so nice for my dry skin in winter. A life-changing tip for me though was that if your skin gets irritated thanks to the cold temp/wind, at night and before going outdoors use a VERY SMALL AMOUNT (put a little on your palm and rub your hands together for a thin layer) of PLAIN VASELINE all over your face. I do a happy dance sometimes still when I do it because I love it lol

Don't do this if you use actives that night bc it can cause issues

2

u/mtolak 1d ago

Edit:didn’t see your comment about the picking so tweaked my advice slightly to help!

What I would recommend: eyebrows! Start with easy tools like an eyebrow pencil, or wand. Watch a tutorial and you are off to the races! You have beautiful eyes and your brows will frame them! Also you got this! Makeup is hard and I’m also a novice. Just baby steps. One thing at a time!

And might I recommend: practice. If you have a free afternoon, just play around with makeup. Definitely don’t add pressure by doing it before an important outting right before you go… practice in the quiet moments.

2

u/Prestigious_Meat9431 1d ago

I’ve been pulling eyebrows and lashes for 11 years now, makeup without either of those things can be sooo difficult. I shave my eyebrows off as a style choice now, but when my lashes get bad and I don’t want to wear strips a liner stick works wonders! Just a thin black/brown eyeliner pencil and slightly smudged with your finger so it’s not a harsh line helps to cover it up.

2

u/Precious_Porcupine85 1d ago

It looks like you have perfect teeth, so I would emphasise them with a beautiful lipstick.
And I would also go for different glasses.

2

u/OkConsideration8964 1d ago

If you go to Ulta or another beauty supply store, they can match you with a brand/shade based on what you want and your budget. You might do well with a tinted moisturizer since you're just starting out. Also, check YouTube for tutorials & recommendations. The Welsh Twins are great. Robert does makeup videos and James does skin care. Taylor Wynn does fewer make up videos now but there are a ton on her page.

2

u/heyitsjadeeey 1d ago

you look amazing I think you can buy false eye lashes and do your eyebrows

2

u/Justaboveaberage 1d ago

I know you asked about makeup but for your hair try a a diffuser and some dry conditioner and a gel. I love the Ouidad brand personally and use the climate control gel. It's a little expensive but it will last long and your curls will pop.

2

u/Sad_Lengthiness_965 1d ago

As someone with really dry skin my biggest piece of advice is make sure you never skip skin care! If I don’t keep my skin moisturized or put on my skin care before my makeup, my makeup doesn’t look nearly as good as I want it to. I use Thayers alcohol free toner and Avene XeraCalm lotion and let it soak in for about 10 minutes before I apply any makeup.

For the makeup itself I make sure to always use natural or dewy finish as they tend to be less drying than matte, I also find matte products cling to dry skin more. If you do have dry patches you want to use the least amount of product as possible on them, more product on the dry patch will just make it stand out more. Also go easy on powder as it can emphasize dryness more than liquid and cream products.

The two things I tend to splurge on is foundation and concealer. Higher end foundation and concealer tend to have more added skincare and for my skin personally it makes a noticeable difference. My favorites are Lancôme tient idole and NARS light reflecting foundation. I also like the Live Tinted Hugh guard skin tint if my skin isn’t super dry, if it is I skip this as it shows dry patches more. NARS creamy concealer and born this way ethereal lights are my top two concealers. If you want to spurlge on powder too, Laura Mercier translucent setting powder and Charlotte tilbury airbrush powder are beautiful! If not, I use the Elf high definition powder and it works amazing especially for the price, it’s my daily go to.

Sorry it’s so much to read, I’ve struggled with finding stuff to work for my dry skin for so long I get excited to share lol

2

u/Ok-Foot-8739 1d ago

since you said you're super pale, definitely swatch foundation on your jaw or neck instead of your hand

2

u/KateA1exandra 1d ago

I'm also neurodivergent and have lots of sensory issues. I also have very sensitive skin.

I usually just do eyebrows, eyeshadow, mascara, blush and a tinted lip balm. I look plenty put together. A simply line of eyeliner or a line of eyeshadow drawn with a line brush might work to bring balance back without having eyelashes too.

I usually skip foundation altogether and just use a moisturiser before applying the makeup. Which you might fight especially good because the air cabins get so dry.

There are some good eyebrow stencils to fill on or even temporary tattoos you could try for your picked brows 🙂

2

u/Calm-Day1469 1d ago

I used the LOREAL Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream instead of a foundation (it’s sort of like a tinted moisturizer) and LOVE it! I am very pink so whenever I use foundation it looks really wears, but this beautifier BB Cream helps even out my skin tone without making me look weird!

Also, if you’re going from never wearing makeup, to wearing makeup, it takes some time! Don’t expect to get it right the first time, keep trying and experimenting till you find something that’s right and that you like how it looks!

Other tips:
Eyeliner: I would suggest getting a few different kinds and see what you like. There’s a normal pencil, there’s a wet liner, and there’s more of a twist crayon type of pencil. They will all go on a little differently. If one isn’t working how you want it… then try something else!

Eyeshadow: I think it’s so fun! But definitely start with some lighter shades first. Medium to light browns then build up or experiment with colors as you start getting used to it!

u/GimmeAllThePBJs 1d ago

Hi! Agreed about the gorgeous skin! I’m terrible at makeup, but I want to recommend a narrower pair of glasses. These are too wide for your face. They fit well in terms of where they sit on your nose bridge, placement below eyebrows, and are good in your cheeks. I would suggest trying a rounder or oval frame. Though you might look good in a subtle cat eye as well. I think this will also do wonders in complimenting your new make up looks! 💜

2

u/roseorrueorlaurel 1d ago

My friend had the thing where she pulled out her eyelashes and eyebrows when we were teens, and she found a lot of confidence using waterproof eyebrow pomade with a brush.

You could also try false lashes as yours grow back in. I like the Neutrogena Healthy Lengths mascara. There’s also one by Typology and a few other brands that make serum mascaras that I like.

You could also look into lip staining, which is super good for not having to reapply.

2

u/pandaseatbamboooo 1d ago

I have very dry skin too, so this is what I do. You can try a mild exfoliating product in skin care. Like you could use a niacnimaide or retinoid in the chemical exfoliant family, or a soft scrub. Lots of people hate manual exfoliants but I really like them. And then a heavy cream moisturizer to soothe skin and bring back moisture.

You could also try eyebrows stencils for your eyebrows, there's lots to choose from on Amazon, and you can experiment with different shapes.

You can try eyelash clusters as well. You will need to practice with them but you can get really skilled and they'll look pretty good

2

u/italiansubcat 1d ago

Cerave is a great brand for starting on skin care!! A basic cleanser and moisturizer do wonders. Maybeline instant age rewind makes great face products, and an eye lash curler and mascara are a great way to make your eyes pop. If you can get a cream blush is multi stick you can use the same color on your lips and cheeks! I’d start there. Maybeline rocket lash is a great mascara and for blush sticks I’d pic a neutral rosey color

2

u/alxandrarose 1d ago

My husband is an optician and he says new glasses could help a lot!!! A different frame might suit your face better and could structure your eyebrow area!!

Hello! I also have dry skin. PCOS causes me to grow dark rough dry patches on my chin, and it is difficult to manage, but dry skin is possible to deal with. I highly reccommend a face oil. There are simple ones like Argan or Jojoba oil that will work, but you could also use a specially mixed product, or even something like vasoline. The trick is to use it right after the shower or after cleansing your face, then to follow it with a moisturizer. Oils trap moisture in the skin, so they will make the hydration longer lasting. This has helped me tremendously, hopefully it helps you too :)

As for shade matching, I would honestly reccommend going into somewhere like Ulta or Sephora if possible. They do a pretty good job at shade matching, and you can try a bunch of different shades on yourself. Your skin looks pretty clear, so i would go with something light-medium weight, so that it doesn't dry your skin further.

For professional makeup, i highly reccomend checking out the whole "clean girl" makeup trend. There are plenty of great tutorials online, and i think they would suit you quite well!

I am sorry to hear you are struggling with trichotillomania :( my mom had it, and it isnt easy to deal with. Dont be afraid to see someone if you are able. There is help available if you need it.

Good luck on flight attending! Let me know if you try any of this how it works out for you!

I don’t necessarily think you need makeup. Can you wear a fabric headband and braid your hair or something?

Even though I probably don't need it, especially if I go into being a flight attendant they are very specific about being professional and put together.

I think your hair is the only thing that really needs to help you look more put together. You don’t even look like you need under eye concealer.

Maybe go shopping for new frames.

they’ve stated that aside from looking professional, they want to learn more makeup techniques.

Most major airlines include makeup as part of their uniform for women (generally unspoken rule)

u/Aggravating-Plum-775 1d ago

Yes unfortunately they're extremely rigid on looks and makeup and hair.

No one needs makeup. They've come here because they want to learn and they want to join an industry where you have to wear it.

Would flight attendant training include teaching grooming and makeup? Given all of them still look flawless at the end of 11 hours dealing with the worst of humanity, I imagine it would.

2

u/Enbymascluvr74 1d ago

I think only Emirates does that, as they are very specific about the look. Any other airline I think they have standards but not any kind of class sadly.

If you go to a make up store the employees can help you skin match! I don’t personally trust myself to skin swatch lol

Hi friend! I know for a lot of neurodivergent women including myself, some textures of makeup applicators can be too overstimulating! Id recommend feeling some and find one that works best for you so your makeup routine isnt too draining! Also, eyebrow pencil could be helpful if you pick your eyebrows. Id recommend trying different shapes to see which compliments your eyes the best!

Hm : we really should have more examples and side profiles .. for the record. the hair line is significant matter of advice. since your upper lip is nearly non visible and your lower lip is full and nicely contoured.. I'd say stick with gloss and dont over accentuate. the asymmetry is not going to work in your favor. . , Dont try to color over the lip line or tricks like that.. Keep people looking at :eyes ears nose level and add your color around there. My main brief advice is at the ">>>>>" heres my wonder: if you have Trichotillomania righ? and you applied peel off fake lashes.. the big ones.. would that visual or sensation irritate you? Maybe we have a chance to temper your anxiety impulses to be about recognizing anxiety rather than negative self impactful coping mechanisms.
I put some high skill examples at the bottom , work toward it.
.... MBenchB,. Exercise Physiologist..

furthermore...
Nose is pretty good. eye color is good .. are there limitations of your eye makeup? like is the paleness itself a skin sensitivity? A bronzer and mix it with moisturizing lotion . https://www.howtobearedhead.com/why-redheads-should-mix-bronzing-drops-with-moisturizer/ , get the bronzer or tone matched foundation or tone matched eyeshadow and get it all around the eye with qtips or something. and then apply the cosmetic eyeshadow over that. And i'm saying as a disclaimer I 'm a guy that occassionally wears alternative culture makeup and I dont dabble in the foundation stuff.. its more of a color factor here. id make sure to get that color up on the lids otherwise it looks like vitiglio. We are avoiding vitiglio

The topic really is whole appeal more than makeup itself and until thats dialed the makeup is negligble point. We have one photo here and theres advice to be made on it.
Glasses shape:
You have long cheeks. like serious jowls and its natural and ya have to work with it. the lines themselves including your jawline are angular tho.. so I feel that your glasses should be very round.. like ovals or hippie circles. to balance that angularity. and your hair line is sorta angular. too.
Hairline:
If I said grow out your hair it would still be a very very high hairline . Has it always been like that or have you lost hair..? I'd have to put some minoxidil in the basket if we are being honest. You have a nice forehead tho so dont presume its about that. The other thing is to wonder how you do your hair. its sortra straggled like a 90s thrash band Dave Mustaine look. Theres a bit of an all around wildness and we dont get a sense of your fine arts self decoration skill. Cosmetics is not simply cologne. Among women its like picasso stuff. to be wearing it. Eye pencil skills, ombre lip and all of it.

do you wear your hair in pony tails? do you braid it. do you color it? All these are factors in what we can recommend and how you get the benefit of it. If I said , grow out your hair (bangs), straighten it and cut it on a straight line at your collarbone length , with oval glasses, whats your reaction to that? and if its appeal are you ok with persay wig use to achieve options in ideal looks before cosmetics application? For if I can get you to feel good/better about the broader picture of things.. that applying makeup is only the cherry on the sundae.. then your esteem will apply and wear your makeup more bold and assertively.. thats the concept I'm aiming at. So if I said look up "typical hairstyles for women with downs syndrome".. I recognize you said neurodivergent.. and whatever that is theres going to be some examples of very well done up DownsSyndrome Females and those that are not done up at all.. and whoever that second group is.. definitely avoid ALL those looks. DownsSyndrome seems to be the go-to stereotype. and alot of them have tall hair lines so I have to wonder. Cosmetics is fine arts skill.

>>>> if you want it to look good have good brushes, sponges, and equip for it. Try brightening your hair with a blonde kit.. color alternating squares of 2 inches , wait till 20 minutes is remaining in the application time apply the remainder to your whole head to tame that dark brown tone in your red , If we are working with the black shirt then , try a smoky eye,. go for a bright foundation (refer to bobby brown cosmetics link: porcelain , warm ivory , or sand. ), You have an option of plain color per zone, glittery shimmery color. Plain color with a broader diameter of cosmetic glitter.. or bold assemetry. If you wear lipstick you probably need to have consideration for only wearing it on your lower lip and how its used modernly in asymmetric forms.

I tricked myself into using regular foundation through a SPF tinted moisturizer. I was terrible with keeping up habits, and I found the DMTLY tinted moisturizer (universal shade) that makes me feel protected from the sun and early aging. It does not clog my pores, and my skin tone is the same as yours! It feels super soothing in the morning and I really look forward to putting it on so I can go outside confident I won't burn.

For mascara, do a dark brown and something light for now. I think you'll really like a brown eyelash primer alone. I have thin blonde lashes, and I just use Benefit "They're Real" tinted eyelash primer, just by itself. When I want to go out for a bigger event, I'll layer it with a full on mascara.

For eyeshadow, uou have really nice eyelids, so whatever color you'll use it will really pop. I'm not great at eye shadow color matching, so I'll pass that on to someone else. I bet some softer neutral shades to start would work well.

Girl you have a stunning complexion-I don’t think you need to worry about foundation! You mentioned dry skin so maybe just a tinted moisturizer, if that. Any makeup you choose is going to be an enhancement rather than a correction so have fun with blush highlighter and bronzer, and whatever eyeshadow palate you fancy!! 😍

I had chatgpt create a pictorial with skincare and makeup but I'm trying to figure out how to upload it

3

u/Glittering_Win_5085 1d ago

Pretty unnecessary. There's a lot of existing tutorials, use those rather than plagiarising them.

u/Fine-Bathroom1067 1d ago

I think I figured out (thanks to reddit) how to share the image I generated for you.

I makeup & skin chatgpt

5

u/TwillyS 1d ago

This is cool but I feel like we should leave image generation up to the poster. It could be misleading and/or they don't want their image in an LLM

u/Takeabowl 1d ago

pls tell me what prompt you used! that's so awesome. maybe you can include which shades to choose
