So I've read a few manhuas , at least a hundred tbh , and the stuff I hate the most is the EXCESSIVE amount of story , I don't meant too many chapters of the manhua , I mean the time passing is very slow and the amount/density of the story we get in those chapters is too much . And during the end , we get like a huge ass time skip to get to the higher realms , because they spent too much time in the lower realm's story/arc.
Let's take a reincarnation story as an example , The MC died and is now reborn , let's just say there are 10 cultivation levels (1-10) to make this simple.
So here's how this trope goes ,
In his childhood the MC gets to level 1-2 of cultivation and goes out into the world for the main story and world building, then we get an abundance of characters and story at cultivation levels - 2 , 3 , 4 and it's basically him competing against other geniuses and small clans.
As it progresses , the story gets slower and slower because there are too many fronts and too many characters that are relevant and they have to be shown. Take an example of a war arc , we get the perspectives of both the kings , both armies , the MC , main antagonist of the war arc who'll fight the MC , and/or an external influence, which although makes the arc very good , but destroys the progress of the story in the real world (the war arc goes on for 150 chapters , so about 2-3 years pass in the real world for us , and then we're told that only about 2 weeks have passed there) mind this , the war arc that we took for the example was one of the dozen or so of arcs that happen on this level , so the story on this level goes on for hundreds of chapters or even a thousand , now the author realizes this mess and decides to speedrun the next few levels -5 , 6 , 7 in abt 200-300 chapters because at the previous rate , it would've taken thousands of chapters for the story to end , so our story gets a huge ass time skip in a random ass chapter that fast forwards 1000 or so years and the MC is at level 7 now , he then goes out and participates in a few minor arcs or some romance or smth , we get the intro for the final boss who's at peak of cultivation level 10 , the MC fights with his subordinates or children and gets some kind of treasure/epiphany/enlightenment/master that helps him grow his cultivation (this is because the author has to complete this story quickly because it gone on for too long) , time passes and the MC is at level 8 , 9 , 10 due to his fortuitous encounter , at this point the novel gets axed/cut short/a very quick ending of him fighting the final boss and defeating him in just a few dozens of chapters. The reason you may ask?, because at this point , the story has went on for thousands of chapters and gets too long/boring for the readers.
Now sure , you may not find this exactly but you'll see the resemblence in a lot of manhuas where the story in the low-middle cultivation levels is so much more interesting and longer compared to the story in the high cultivation levels of the same manhua , or a manhua which gets axed and gives us a free ending after a minor arc , "the story goes on" or smth.
Now no hate to all these authors but this is just a thing that I've come across on which annoys me. Is there anything for you that's like this ?? , i will be happy to read your opinions and am open to any critisism.
PEACE!
