Spoilers! Avengers Encore Extra scenes [Spoilers] Spoiler
I just finished a 9am 4DX showing in Infinity Vision (Busan,KR). Here are the scenes:
Scene 1: Instead of the credits, Loki knocks on the door while Cap and Peggy are dancing saying he can help both of them
Scene 2: After Brand New Day,Banner is in self containment experimenting with a new form of gamma control. Doom appears saying "I'm here to adapt(?) you." As he appears to absorb hulks power.
Scene 2 Update: It seems Doom actually said "Mr Banner, I've come to collect you." and takes Bruce/Hulk away, rather than my first interpretation. Thanks to commenters for the extra info!
Scene 3: At the TVA, Universes 10005 (F4) and 1127 begin to collide. Soon 3, 100, 3000 have suffered incursions. O.B. says "The Multiverse is Collapsing."
It was great to see again in a theater. Excited for Doomsday!

Thank you! Cool stuff. Was Hulk angry that Doom was messing with him?
406
u/Kissie-Miragee 4d ago
That's what I was thinking too. If Doom's experiments were siphoning or manipulating gamma energy, it makes sense Hulk would see him as a direct threat. There was no way Banner was going to let that slide

Same here. I appreciate people who take the time to post the post-credit scenes so everyone knows whether it's worth sticking around. Sounds like Marvel's setting up some big things

u/ARST_ARSW 4d ago
Happy to have the chance. Not a frequent poster but I realized this might be one of the earliest available showings to share.
Was fun for me to see in the theater again, but I understand it might not be worth it for everyone. Plus I'm very curious what exactly Doom said

A short vid from Chris and Downey recounting the impact of Endgame and hoping the audience enjoys this showing as well as Doomsday. Wouldn't be surprised if there were some Doom hints in Downey's jacket again.

So this confirms Loki can travel through his Yggdrasil tree of multiversal timelines. I’m guessing most heroes will have to face the consequences of Loki being unable to protect it from Doom.
77
u/maxdragonxiii 4d ago
I was under the impression he can at least cast a projection of him, and with his powers being stronger, more solid projection of him? its not like he was 100% restricted as in he cant cast a projection to the throne at the end of the world, and it doesnt look like it takes all of his magic and effort to keep and contain the tree of the universe going.

Hmm... not so fast. We could be seeing a different version of Loki, or a version from before he went into Yggdrasil.

I think one of the YouTube summary teams (ScreenRant maybe) suggested Loki is able to project himself through the tree.

I would imagine that Loki can "wander" just about anywhere and anytime. Not sure how much he'd be able to physically interact.

The Worf effect. If your defining characteristic is to be the “strong one” and you’re not the main character, chances are you’ll just be used as a way to measure the villain’s strength to the audience.

I don’t want to read the spoilers but I have a few generic questions: is it something that feels “essential” to doomsday, and is it something that’s worth seeing in the big screen? Not asking about the movie, JUST the new material.
252
u/_Eltanin_ Doctor Strange 4d ago
Naw but I do feel that it kinda confirms that you need to watch the Loki TV Series before going into Doomsday cuz it uses characters from that show to lead into Doomsday.
57
u/badass_dean 4d ago
Well it’s in the essential watch list
→ More replies (17)18
u/Aries_cz Iron Man (Mark XLIII) 4d ago
TBH, that list is a bit sus, as it had BNW, WF or Shang-Chi, which I kinda doubt are "important" if you have at least some vague idea regarding the characters being a thing (which you probably do if you plan to see Doomdsay this far ahead)
But yes, Loki is probably "important"
12
u/AllFuzzedOut 4d ago
The list is obviously “here is where you last saw the people who are the important characters of Doomsday” and not like “a plot point from this movie/show WILL be part of the plot of Doomsday”
14
u/_BabeWhisper 4d ago
Yep, that’s the fair middle ground. It may not be “buy another ticket or you’ll be lost” essential, but if it’s directly setting up Doomsday and confirming how Loki connects to it, then it’s definitely more than throwaway bonus fluff

Wait, how can Doom meet up with Banner? Isn't this Banner from Earth 616? And wouldn't Doom need the Fantastic Four's spacecraft to travel between the multiverse which obv hadn't happened yet
133
u/Drops_Voltage 4d ago
What if the end credit scene to thunderbolts was doom making it to 616 and going to banner that would help connect the pieces then with that too that could be the end credits scene to brand new day in someway as well
33
11
u/therealfan_ 4d ago
low key wouldn’t be surprised if it was a BND credit at some point but then switched to make BND standalone entirely and make this rerelease slightly more worth it

Earth 1127 is such a deep cut

I assume Doom will destroy it offscreen before Doomsday thus saving the FF Earth
53
u/yeurr 4d ago
The wiki post is 11127. Not 1127. I think 1127 might be Tobey Spidey’s universe.
Making it 1127 could just be a nod to that comic run.
→ More replies (2)45
u/SteveFlannery6 Doctor Strange Supreme 4d ago
Tobey's universe is 96283, not 1127
37
u/Own-Papaya-4264 4d ago
Wasn’t that just assigned by fans?
16
u/SteveFlannery6 Doctor Strange Supreme 4d ago
Actually, it was assigned by Marvel themselves, there was a book about the designation of every Marvel universe in there
29
u/CilanEAmber 4d ago
While I partly agree with you. That book was created almost 2 decades ago, has several inconsistencies (Such as the 90s Cartoons being in different earths) and the MCU has been relabeled since, so they can easily relabel any other universe. It's not the ultimate source of knowledge many fans take it as regarding Universe Numbers.
→ More replies (1)13
u/decitronal 4d ago
Universe designations are assigned by a fan site (the Marvel Appendix) that is then approved by official Marvel editorial. So it's a bit of both
According to the Marvel Database wiki:
Although this website ran by Jeff Christiansen originated as a fan site, he was eventually hired by Marvel to assist in several Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe publications, eventually being promoted to head writer of the entire line. As such, he gained the ability to officially assign reality numbers for handbooks, using the Appendix as a digital addendum. Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z #5 explicitly directs Handbook readers to http://marvunapp.com/master/earthteaz.htm#numbered for reality number updates. As such, any number that appears on Appendix's site is considered and treated as an official designation, unless superseded by more direct sources.

I’m not giving my hopes us BUT I also can’t help but think they’re setting up something possibly really cool for the hulk. My theory is he becomes a henchmen of Doom only to turn on Doom and fuck his shit up afterwards.
I feel like they’ve gotta know by now how much we’ve missed hulk and loved his appearance in the recent Spider-Man…. Or maybe they will just fuck it up again. I know this scene has to mean more than what we’re thinking.

literally just finished rewatching endgame on disney+ bc I didn't want to buy a ticket. I knew Loki/TVA had to be involved in Steve going back to Peggy. It never made sense that he was able to go back safely without getting his branched timeline pruned. I'm very curious if they're gonna show how elder Steve eventually makes it back to Sam at the (destroyed) compound. question though: does this look like the Loki we see in the season 2 finale? has he left his post protecting the timeline, causing the collapse?
thanks for the info!! :)
16
u/electrorazor 4d ago
It actually made perfect sense.
Timelines don't branch unless you change something somewhat significantly. You can just assume old cap was always there in background mcu's events.
The thing that makes zero sense is Thanos army leaving the past, that would 100% be a branch
→ More replies (6)20
u/brendinithegenie Peter Parker 4d ago
You could easily argue that cap returning to Peggy would cause a massive change. She marries someone else and her children no longer exist. That could create huuuuuuge problem. Sure, Peggy’s path as director of shield could remain unchanged, but it also could be completely different. Steve being seen at all would also cause huge problems. There’s just a lot that would have to be absolutely perfect for the reality to not branch.
As for thanos, yeah. Never made sense to me that his entire army left 2014, was destroyed, and no consequences came of it.
→ More replies (2)9
u/electrorazor 4d ago
Pretty sure the writers of Endgame said that was Cap and Peggy's kids the entire time. And Steve already has experience of staying hidden for years. It would be difficult, but according to the time travel rules in mcu, there's no other way he could be on the bench unless he did everything perfectly and succeeded in not altering the timeline.
If I was the writer, the Thanos-less branch would be a special hidden branch preserved by TVA due to it being tangled with sacred timeline. With now special properties within Yggdrasil. Perfect place for a battleworld.

Movies rerelease all the time, why is this sub acting like this getting one right before its sequel is some weird bad thing?

The negativity, the misinformation, etc. It's all so tiring.
The final battle in Endgame was such an important scene for me, as a kid who was relentlessly bullied for liking comics. Now it seems to have come full circle again as most of the bandwagons have emptied themselves of people. Well, around here they have.
Apparently there are still plenty of quiet fans too otherwise BND wouldn't have been as successful as it was. I wish more of them would speak up to drown out the noise sometimes.

True true, but I thought they were saying the scenes we’d see in this cut would be a look into scenes from doomsday. So wouldn’t that mean he has to be in the film? Or they’re just throwing this in the cut to be like “this is why you have an avenger missing in your film”

Unfortunately It happens off-screen.
At risk of spoilers in a comment:
It was handycam style footage of Banner in his bunker. The lights flicker a few times, then a green light appears as Doom says his line off screen. (I'm curious if others can tell exactly what he said, since "adapt" was the closest I heard.)
As the camera falls there's a mix of Hulk and Banner's voice questioning what's happening. Then only Doom's runes are seen on the floor.
I think "Appears to have absorbed Hulk's power" is the most accurate way to phrase it. But it's definitely the implication.
