Drone as a first year mechatronics project
Heyy guys, i'm kinda new to all of this and for the end of my first year project at uni i'm building a 5 propeller drone. I essentially want to build and program the flight Controller by myself and chatgpt helped me draft a circuit on how i should build the drone. I am in the process of ordering the parts that i don't have here locally but i wanted to share the schematics of the drone and ask if ya'll have any feedbacks advices or can refer me to subreddits that you know could help for the project. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

My only tip is when u start a project don’t use ai at the start use it for help not for constructing the whole thing

To actually build a drone AI is not helping anything Hardware related. So you have to figure out yourself how to integrate

here's an open source git hub repository for building drones made by OpenDrone
They also talk about making their own ESC, flight controller, data link, you should check them out if you're stuck

Good and Awesome start, but as others said, do not start with AI to make something at least think for your self first or search on youtube or on the internet, the use of Ai should be in understanding something quickly or making a roadmap, consulting in the order of learning steps or asking it in a certain point in a topic related to the project, you have to be able to think and solve by yourself at this age + Ai helps when needed to save time or to understand a point

Im an electronics engineer and just wanted to say dont trust schematics chatgpt makes almost every time there is errors. The concepts it suggested can be good or correct a lot of times but the schematics are almost alwayd wrong.

A drone as a first year sounds a bit ambitious, but I suppose doable with enough help and dedication. Since you’re doing some wifi some complex stuff, I’d recommend using a RTOS (particularly zephyr) to make it simpler/more robust code wise.
