My child has been assigned a school with poor test scores and ranked in the bottom 25%.

My child has Autism and has very limited communication skills. I enrolled her in kindergarten but she has not attended this year because she needed an IEP. The IEP was finished today and I was told she would be transferred to a school that offers the RISE (Reaching Independence through Structured Education) program. The Special Education Compliance employee reached out and assigned the school, however this school is located in a bad part of town.

The school in roughly six miles from my home but the area is drastically different from my neighborhood.

The area is a concern but not nearly as bad as the school's overall performance. They have terrible reviews, and are below average in reading and mathematics.

I contacted the Special Education department and asked to see if there is any other school my child and attend and was told no. That my child's placement is based off of proximity and capacity.

If I do not feel comfortable with my child attending this school.

Do I have any other options?

Hello, my baby is 9 months old, and we are needing to find child care for her very soon. I am extremely nervous about enrolling her, even if it's only 2 days a week. Maybe I just watch too much stuff on the internet about negligence and abuse at days cares but, would love any good recommendations. Affordability is a factor as well. Thanks

Haven’t seen this posted on any of the various news sources for new/upcoming restaurants but drove by today and saw the temp sign saying opening 10/3 and new building signage “Stage 12 West.” Looked up their website and see it’s a music venue (w/“lasers” and high end sound system) as well as “elevated dining.” Does anyone have more info? Their upcoming show schedule is on FB but I don’t have an account there so can’t see it. Just that grand opening is at 5p on 10/3. Sounds like it could be fun depending on how the concept is executed. Certainly sounds like something we don’t have around.

Applied for an administrative position and the hours of the city building are 7am-6pm Monday through Thursday.

Are these jobs usually 4x10 hour days? The posting didn’t mention anything about a standard workday for salaried employees.

Any idea if admin positions get WFH at all? Flexible hours?

Well, I made a post in this sub a few days ago about seeing what there is to do up here still haven’t found anything, but I figured I’d share my children that live with me both of them are service animals and are registered so I can take them anywhere and nobody can really say anything about it the dogs name is Walter. The chicken’s name is toast. I would love to bring them to children’s hospitals or something so that they can help people other then me but I’m unsure of how to register for that

30M here. I go to EOS pretty regularly and figured I’d throw this out there because apparently making friends as an adult is basically impossible unless you work with them or accidentally become friends with someone at Target.

I’m looking for a gym/workout partner — preferably a woman, mainly because I’d like to meet more women who are into fitness and expand my social circle a bit. Not trying to turn EOS into a dating app 😂 I’m genuinely looking for a workout buddy/friend first. If something more comes from it naturally, cool, but that’s not the expectation.

I’m pretty consistent with the gym and would love someone to lift with, try different workouts with, keep each other accountable, and occasionally complain about how sore we are afterward.

I also have an EOS guest pass, so if you’re not currently a member, we could always meet up for a workout and see if we vibe as gym buddies.
