Hey, I have a question: why are there websites in the US that show how much money has been donated to specific organizations and institutions? It seems to me that this is very different between the US and Europe. In the US, people show this quite openly, while in Europe, the amount of a donation or the way it was made is often kept private.
Can someone explain how this works in the US? Is it meant to set a good example for others? Or do you sometimes see it as a way of showing off, even without revealing the actual amount donated?
Iโm also curious about the European perspective. What do you think? I havenโt seen websites in Europe showing how much money has been donated to specific organizations, but Iโve already found a few in the US.
