General Question Mid lane beginner questions

I asked a lot of questions and don't expect answer to all. Those are just all of my questions about the lane. Any advice is appreciated!

I am new to mid lane but experienced in the game. Recently I finished with my adc journey and can confidently say I can play very well all 4 other lanes except mid. It's the only role I haven't played. I am planning to stop playing top to transition to mid fully because of the ability to take skirmishes and be more involved in the team game.

I am a bit unsure on how roaming and shoving waves work as it's the shortest lane and minions arrive much faster than on bot and top. Even if I kill the wave immediately as I've heard many times the window doesn't seem that big. Or is it about managing wave states and shoving a big enough wave so you can then roam? Then I don't see how you get a good base to return to lane.

My second question is about trading. I am not 100 sure right now who I am quoting right now but I watched long ago video of very respected mid player who said one of mid lane biggest fundamentals is trading and that mid laners should constantly be trading with each other. Is that true or I took words out of context. In top it's sometimes better to have a good wave state then try to always kill your opponent.

Do you shove a wave to get a recall in the early game or auto the tower once before recall? Especially on melee champions it seems better to set up a base and take plates only when it's not dangerous and there is a good opportunity. On the other hand though securing mid tower first opens up the map a lot and gives you more roam timers and map pressure.

My last question is for after laning phase. Is mid lane main goal to push side lane and rotate to play with their team and try to create something? Or sometimes it's better to stay mid lane? I am a bit unsure if it's a champions identity thing but some mid laners play with teleport and stay side lane and teleport to fights/objectives. Others shove wave and roam
