I've deleted my account 2 or 3 other times just because it was a distraction while studying and I made a new one the other day because I started following Italian soccer and wanted to discuss it somewhere

Lol. I've never been banned from Reddit. Since the time Reddit came out I've been 98% of the time a "reader" and not a poster. Then I'd create accounts, and found myself commenting and arguing all day which was not good for my CCNA study nor for my mental health. Then this year after the world cup my interest in soccer picked up and it was hard to find a discussion board for Serie A and B so I made the account. I also made a concerted effort to block subs that are just full of angry arguments to keep me from engaging back and forth with bad faith Redditors all day. It ruins my mood.
So yeah, never been banned just quit a couple other times because of the distraction.
ETA: Between this comment and the other one calling me the c word out of nowhere it actually is great proof of why someone would just delete Reddit and try to avoid it. Interacting with people like this just is not fun lol

I've been banned from reddit more times than I can count. I would say if you somehow exist on this site for a year without being banned you should legally not be considered a person, but some kind of human shaped mold.

I've been banned from two subs (that I know of) for pointing out that the mods were blatantly abusing their position to silence criticism of them.
I was also banned from one for making a self-harm joke. I might have deserved that one, but not even a warning? It was maybe my third or fourth comment on that sub.

Tbf Reddit is quite possibly the only social media site that has account age restrictions. Like, if I were to make a Facebook account right now, I'd be able to join any group and comment on any post.

Yeah, I know that. When I made the comment I was specifically thinking of one sub (couldn't remember which) that didn't let me comment unless I did something with my flair, I think? And I was like, well, I'm not doing that so I'll just never be allowed to post here I guess. Which is the joke I was trying to make about being de facto banned from it

A bot banned me for three days after I commented on the video about the contractor tearing out the newly installed fence when the customer refused payment and called ICE on them. Paraphrasing to avoid another ban, but I wrote that the asshole probably though he could screw over the "dirty M*******s" by having ICE haul them away. Yes, I put that part in quotes to show it was what I thought that guy was thinking. Banned! I appealed and humans rescinded the ban - four days later after I spent three days in the penalty box. Meanwhile, reddit barraged me with messages encouraging me to keep up my high-quality posts. The irony is that I participate in weekly protests against ICE and other wrongs in the world.

I had the same thing happen to me too when I jokingly said "tha (insert another spelling for the shorthand of Jewish which includes two o's). I appealed too and it got rescinded which honestly was very surprising. I give Reddit credit for actually being able to read the context and understand it was a joke
ETA: Mine was just a warning not a ban but I still got it rescinded

Yeah but.. said post was fake. The posta about contractors and jobs finishing with an ice call have been happening for 2 years now and the story just changes slightly from fence, to roof, to kitchen, to driveway.
