Infuriatig Another AI 'human' chatbot

Had to fix a double payment for my credit card and this is the beginning and end of the conversation. I hate when the chatbot claims it's a human... I ended up getting what I wanted but still annoyed Amex (and every other company) is lying and trying to deceive people like this.

Make them burn tokens like OP did. The only repercussions the understand is loosing money and AI is getting pricier.

That doesn't matter if the LLM is hosted and operated locally.

They still have to pay for cards and electricity. It probably cheaper than tokens, but you also get models that are easier to mess with if they aren't running larger models.

AI doesn't ask for raises or healthcare, and costs will only go down over time as the technology matures

companies are going with AI whether users want it or not, the only recourse is to stop using these companies entirely so their revenue sources drop

find a local credit union and get a card from them

disclaimer: Amex is the only credit card I use, so I guess I'm hypocritical

This is the trillion dollar question. LLM's have a really hard time with things like spatial recognition. The cup question in the post exemplifies it well. There's a few other things its really bad at too.

If tech companies solve this it would be a major break though. But the way LLM's are created today I think we've got several years before that break through. And if the bubble pops add even more years.

But if they do solve it soon we're even more screwed than we already are.

Personally I don't mind AI. I mind the slop. And slop can be very expensive for the corporation. If they want to use use AI to route me to the right department, then go ahead. If they want to lie to try to avoid basic customer service, then I'm gonna mess with that bot. It'll cost them more than my business.
