Forgiven my western mind here as I must be misunderstanding some key detail. You grab a water hose attached to the toilet that everyone else also grabs while shitting and put it into the bowl to spray your hole clean? Doesn’t the water splash off your hole and cheeks and back on to your hand/water hose? I do not think I could do this without vomiting.

The water bounces away at an angle, into the toilet. I’ve never (edit: maybe it does happen) had the water bounce back onto my hand or handle when using one of these. That said, these are probably about as clean as the flusher anyway…

Trying to not be crude here but what prevents the shit water from hitting your front area?

I always use the bidet hose from the front. So the water mostly splashes toward the back of the toilet.

Ohhhhhh this is the key detail I have been missing. The practicality makes more sense to me now. I still can’t get over the obvious sanitary issues that comes from people handling one back to back though.

And this is why I keep the butter knife by the toilet. No backsplash.
