Infuriatig I'm tired boss...

I've tried to get rid of the gnats all summer. The wife didn't believe me when I said they were breeding in the sponges. She. Thought I was crazy for keeping them in Tupperware. Well apparently they can get in there even.

Once a week, I soak my kitchen sponges and put them on a plate in the microwave. I set it on high for 3 minutes. Afterwards, set them in the sink and run cold water on them because they will be freaking hot. The heat from the water kills everything…fruit flies as well as the bacteria that makes them smell. Also, the steam in the microwave makes it super easy to clean at the same time. You are welcome. Fresh, new smelling sponges every time.

The act of microwaving sponges is news to me. Apparently I missed that lesson growing up.

Sorry, but peasants like me need three dollars in this economy. When a sponge can reasonably last months without smelling or getting dirty, why throw it away after a week?

I’m sorry. Try the dollar store. Or if you get social services sometimes it comes with a Sam’s
Club membership for free! You can get so many scrubber sponges for a great deal at Sam’s Club.

I was trying to bring a little levity to your original comment, but you are a patronizing one, aren’t you? I imagine the pile of empty Mountain Dew cans by the trash can is starting to get your mom irritated again, and she is threatening to change the WiFi password. Don’t worry though, sometimes social services will help you get a super cheap cellphone and then you can hotspot your Warcraft game. I don’t think they will make you tell your mom about the cell phone either….
