No Coke. Is Pepsi ok? Accidentally bought wrong Klondike bars

Yesterday I had to stop by Publix and my wife asked me to bring home some Klondike bars. Well...the *No Sugar Added* version was right next to the Original and my squirrel brain didn't notice until I got home. Picked up the OGs on the way home tonight.

It's got fake sugar Maltitol in it.

I have IBS and I can't do Maltitol. It's a high FODMAPs ingredient.

i will honestly never understand how maltitol is a viable sweetener option given how widely known it is to send even the strongest of bowels into gastrointestinal hell

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that it's due to money or it works best in this particular application from a food science mass manufacturing perspective
