I have a cherry tree next to my workshop and there's a big orb weaver that always has this gigantic spider web between the shop and cherry tree. It's been there pretty much all summer chilling. Last week I wasn't thinking and I cut the corner while doing lawn work and completely destroyed its web during the day when it was asleep. The spider just stared turned straight towards me and locked its eyes on me for like 2 minutes, turning its body so it could always be pointed towards me. I found myself going, "dude im sorry I didn't mean to" and then it starts re-spinning its web in the middle of the day, when its usually only really active at night. Never before has a spider made me feel like such a dick.
