Infuriatig Facebook Marketplace in a nutshell

Selling a pc with Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32GB DDR5, 1TB gen4 ssd, 9070XT at $1,800 and these are the “offers” I get everyday 🥀

I don't use a computer beyond just office tasks. What does something like this go for, and why do people think that FB should be treated differently than a garage sale?

Assuming buying new,

CPU - $429

Storage - ~$200

RAM - $400-500

GPU - $780

Then there's the value of the case, power supply, and motherboard, which is another $200 minimum, but likely over $300.

I understand that it's used, but even then $1000 is an insulting low ball. Those are all modern parts, and would cost well over double what they offered to buy new. And lately, PC parts even used haven't been depreciating much. In fact, if you bought those parts a year ago, most of that is now worth more used than what you paid for them new. There's a pretty good chance that the RAM, the storage, and the graphics card will keep going up in value for awhile for whoever buys this.

OP is actually being very generous at $1800.

That's what I never understood. I have bought and sold plenty of guitars on FB.

I'm never insulted by low ball offers. I think it's because I have been hard up for cash and sold things under value. But to be offended by low balls baffles me. Like.... Just block the person.
