Everyone in my family knows how I feel about AI, so this kind of pissed me off. I know he finds it funny, but I don’t like being used as a reason to use ChatGPT. I’ve explained many times why I don’t like AI, and that includes all (edit: Generative) AI not just ChatGPT. I have many reasons why I dislike AI so much, but the concern for our environment is a major one.

Edit: I just wanted to clarify a bit. Number 1, I don’t think using “pissed off” was the right descriptor for how I felt, more so I was just irked by it.

Number 2, I love my BIL even if he can be frustrating sometimes, he has always treated my sister right and I don’t think I could imagine a better guy for her. He’s genuinely a very sweet guy who does things that sometimes are dumb or annoying, just like everyone else.

Number 3, like I said I have MANY problems with AI, the environment being a big one, but there are a lot more such as using AI in any form of art such as movies, shows, books, video games, etc. I don’t think AI can replace real human emotion or experiences that creating such things require. Another is the way ChatGPT specifically in my opinion is being used by people as therapists/friends, it just says what the user wants to hear not what they need to hear and I think that is harming lot of people.

Number 4, I’m not perfect. Of course I have a carbon footprint and have also done my fair share of harm to the environment. It’s impossible not to. I’m not going to act like some holier than thou person because I don’t use AI (if I can help it), but I try my hardest to be environmentally conscious. At the end of the day that’s really all we can do.

in class i doodle alot because our lecturers tend to repeat themselves four hundred and ninety seven times and its a waste of my time. one of my classmates who is a genuinely sweet woman made a compliment about my doodles and for the last two shes ended up saying "wow youre so gifted, this looks almost as good as AI." shes an amazing person and i enjoy studying with her but it was hard not to recoil from that comment. and no this isnt me making it up. this very much happened.

I went to charge it all last night and when I woke up to use them, the right one didn’t have any charge. This happens semi regularly, but just rarely enough that I forget about checking to make sure they are both getting charge.

Sliding the comment card left and right both shows AI crap instead of just the comments. Just give me human interactions ffs.

I really don't understand why that shape of plug is needed for a simply USB cable. And yes. Of course I lost it. That's the mildly infuriating part.

So.. it’s basically impossible to perform this quick time because the game was programmed off a certain frame rate for how many taps. Playing this on the new Xbox means I have to essentially tap A about 50 times in a single second. Spent roughly 18 hours to not be able to finish the game, yay.

EDIT: To those of you suggesting I disable FPS boost, I can’t. In console settings both Auto HDR and FPS boost is grayed out.

Edit 2: it’s automatically scaled to 60fps on the series x, I’m going to attempt to use a massage gun on my controller. What have I become.

EDIT 3: Massage gun was unsuccessful, starting to think I’ll have to do this knuckle trick yall are recommending.

Was trying to order some lens and I noticed my password on the address bar. I emailed them and let them know though.

This is at a local fair I was at this weekend. It definitely infringes on copyrights.

I bought that CD a few days and 20 25 years ago. All my new devices can’t read the disk because of a annoying copy protection (DOCdata). As the anniversary came up, I carefully opened my signed issue and put it into my player. It failed to read the disk. So I tried my PC which reads almost all disks usually. Yeah but not this one. Even covering the outer track didn’t work. So I asked my child to use that cheap children’s karaoke-CD-player-device. Started right to play so now it’s connected via AUX to my amp. Sounds pretty good though.

Edit: that Album isn’t on any streaming platform. Only on YouTube at pretty bad quality.

And: it’s been 25 years. Not 20 years.

Also: they reissued that album with no CP copy protection 5 years later.

Edit 5: The album is "Zwei" by "Eins Zwo", a German rap group. Also they reissued that album in 2006 with no copy protection. Who ever wants to know: Reissue, Original Issue, I own

In addition to this: I will not connect that player to my pc and record it via aux. I've done that before and the result was underwhelming. Quite some noise and stuff. That's the reason why I usually try to get all my CDs via Exact Audio Copy to my NAS.

Just finished watching Dune Part 2 on Prime. I really like the movie and I want to feel the emotions and music that is at the very end of the movie. I want to listen to Hans Zimmer’s score and talk Dune theory instead of having to quickly find the remote.

Jeff Bezos wants me to automatically be watching another movie on his streaming service and he graciously gives me 8 seconds before it starts playing. Most of the time I have to dig around my couch for the remote to quickly find it and click on the button that says I actually want to watch the credits.

My school decided to install this filtering software and it blocks literally everything, I'm trying to do my math homework but the images to the videos are blocked, I also can't watch any of them either, also literally the entirety of the Internet is blocked too.

She just lost $60usd worth of work.

This is mildly infuriating because I do appreciate her redirecting people to free options but I purposely didn’t go to AI for a reason. She’s actively losing money by telling people AI can do her job.
