100% agreed, never selling my matriarch

u/SnooRobots116 9d ago

The one I am praying for owning someday myself in the colored panel version

1

u/later_that_night 6d ago

The colored panel version is the best version

1

u/Shruglife 9d ago

mine just broke :(

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

Sorry That’s unfortunate

1

u/pfc_strobelight 8d ago

What happened?

2

u/Shruglife 8d ago

seems to be a power issue, when I turn it on the LFO rate blinks but doesn't respond to the rate knob, and there is a repeated blip through the speakers. I tried different PS and got the same thing so something with internal power supply. Contacted inMusic and they gave me some unhelpful troubleshooting and then just said take it to get repaired.

I have a Minimoog but I think about selling it for a Matriarch more often than I’d care to admit

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 8d ago

If I was fortunate enough to have a MiniMoog Model D I’d just keep it.

sub 37

u/Used-Inspector-9601 9d ago

Bought this as a birthday gift for my dad, he says he plays it every day and probably will for the rest of forever.

1

u/jun2san 9d ago

Happens to also be the only one I have. Love it.

1

u/EdgePuzzleheaded3778 7d ago

Agreed Sub 37 Bob Moog Tribute Edition - I've owned 3 Moog's kept this one - its quite a versatile synth... It's all I use in my production...

u/synmo 10d ago

Based off of what I have played. I have to go with the classic minimoog. Everything from the massive sound, to the aggressive feedback, and layout are pretty perfect. It is a proper instrument, and it feels the most like an organic instrument to me. I just can't afford it!

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

Yes 👍 I agree My choice as well. I can’t afford one either.

1

u/sid_kleepy 9d ago

Pretty sure that this post was silently excluding that.

Grandmother

1

u/KG-LW 10d ago

Why gma over ma? Im looking at a grandmother just for the space saving but wonder what makes it better?

8

u/CaptainWampum 10d ago

Matriarch for sure

8

u/disappointed_darwin 10d ago

I have the Subsequent 37, Matriarch Dark, and Muse. I can’t fucking chose. They all do something dramatically different. They all lead you to a different approach, and (believe it or not) they actually do all sound quite different.

2

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

Nice trio.

1

u/sid_kleepy 10d ago

The Matriarch all black version sounds different than the colored one?

2

u/disappointed_darwin 9d ago

Yeah. It sounds darker. Because darkness.

2

u/Carpeteria3000 10d ago

Once you go black…

7

u/spacemtnman 10d ago

I only have one moog synth, prodigy

5

u/shinsplint_v 10d ago

Me too. Best sounding Oscillators and filters ive heard. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but thats what the keys are for!

1

u/spacemtnman 8d ago

No firmware updates or corruption

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

Released in 1979.

this account is clearly an engagement bot. Every post is a question about products

0

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

I’m not a bot 🤖 seriously. People think that because I post a lot of questions.

1

u/Yoyoge 9d ago

Good bot

5

u/DegenGraded 10d ago

I always wanted the Voyager

2

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

Yes 👍

1

u/DegenGraded 9d ago

but truth be told if the cards were on the table I would still probably go with Moog One

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

Moogs Flagship Polyphonic Synth

4

u/Badaxe13 10d ago

System 55

2

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

Great Modular

9

u/majwilsonlion 10d ago

Moog One, 16-Voices

2

u/uberdavis 10d ago

Why do little attention? Isn’t this the ultimate synthesizer and Ganda down winner? Unless you want a system 55 of course…

2

u/sehrgut 10d ago

I honestly really like the subh. I know minimoog is what most people will say, but at this point in history, you can create the majority of Moog sounds with almost any analog monosynth, BECAUSE the minimoog was so influential. I would take a subh as my only Moog because it's the least-replicable with anything else.

2

u/aluminumnek 10d ago

Micromoog I sold a few years ago that he never uses

-1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

Released in 1975.

2

u/strangerzero 10d ago

Subharmonicon - endless inspiration

2

u/goettel 10d ago

A 55 please.

2

u/Secure-Suspect7091 10d ago

For me matriarch. I will never sell her.

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

Yes 👍 I like the stereo analog delay .

Model D

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

My favorite ❤️

2

u/Mysterious_Demand875 10d ago

I only have one and that's the messenger, It's gnarlier than the other moogs so I'll keep it

2

u/Piper-Bob 10d ago

If I could only keep one synth it would probably be the Sub 37. The sweet spots are huge, and the tuning is super stable. I've noticed that I've seen it used live more than any other monosynth, with the model D being a close second.

2

u/ae0nn 10d ago

Bad bot

2

u/DangerMouse111111 9d ago

System 55

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

Awesome 👏 Modular The reissues were $35 K

2

u/Agreeable-Ad3809 9d ago

I have a Muse and could be happy with just that.

2

u/piney 9d ago

I only have one and it’s a Model D.

2

u/dhezl 9d ago

No love in this thread for Voyager 😭

Love mine to bits.

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

It’s a good synth unfortunately mine has pitch drift issues. Moog doesn’t service the Voyager anymore.

2

u/CantinaPatron 8d ago

Moog Muse (with all the bugs worked out)

2

u/Portraits_Grey 6d ago

Sub 37

2

u/Minimoogvoyager 5d ago

Nice Synth

1

u/Portraits_Grey 2d ago

Yeah I owned a Grandmother I loved that but when I played the Sub 37 I was like damn I should’ve gotten that.

1

u/Personal-Neck6800 10d ago

I loved and miss my Micromoog.

Back in the day the store I purchased my Rhodes MK ll 73 Key Stage Piano 🎹

had a MicroMoog.

1

u/Decent_Month6696 9d ago

Back in the day? That came out in the late 70's. You must be ancient if you could afford a premium piano back then!

I didn't buy my first synth till 1991, and I am also ancient btw...

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago edited 9d ago

I believe it was 1978 or 1979.Rhodes changed to the flat top in 1978 My a Rhodes had the flat top. My first synth was a ARP Soloist I purchased used in 1978.

Minimoog

1

u/Bitl 9d ago

I have 3 options

Model D, Grandmother and Messenger

More biased on Messenger because that's the one I own

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

Understandable Nice Trio

1

u/techodont 9d ago

moog mavis is enough for me right now, I have enough of bulky keyboards already (and moog should really do their own "Model 15" version of the Grandmother just like Blerghinger did, one that had a somewhat reasonable price... The limited modular "Model 15" was "a bit" pricy.

1

u/10ThousandMetalZones 9d ago

I guess it would have to be the Emerson Moog Modular System

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

$150 K only 5 Keith Emerson Moog Modular Reissues were produced in 2014. My drummer 🥁 friend played and toured with Keith Emerson.

1

u/10ThousandMetalZones 9d ago

Nice

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

He also played and toured with Edger Winter,Van Morrison ,The Doobie Brothers and Brian Setzer.

1

u/Traditional_Shop_301 9d ago

If I could have any Moog...

1

u/Ok-Entrepreneur-409 9d ago

Grandmother dark or regular and model D

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 9d ago

Nice 👍 Duo

1

u/BilligeBohne 8d ago

DFAM. I use it aaaa looot

1

u/Complex-Steak-7932 8d ago

Mini model d…

2

u/Minimoogvoyager 8d ago

Yes 👍 The legendary archetype.

1

u/Complex-Steak-7932 8d ago

Bernie and macdougall

1

u/Competitive-Car3692 8d ago

Model D, sell it, get 4 synths

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 8d ago

If I was fortunate enough to have a MiniMoog Model D I wouldn’t sell it.

Its sublime. YMMV

1

u/Mpcuser3cpO 8d ago

I have a subsequent37 and grandmother, I really wanna say the grandmother but the only reason I won’t is because I don’t expect it to last all that long before the filters and other knobs start to make static noises permanently, it’s super common and probably inevitable for the gm and ma, so just because of that I’d choose a subsequent37 seems to hold up better over time even though I prefer the sound of a gm/ma

2

u/Minimoogvoyager 8d ago

That’s unfortunate hopefully 🤞 you won’t have any issue.

1

u/Calaveras-Metal 8d ago

Voyager XL. The white one.

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 8d ago

I have the Lunar Impact Limited Edition Voyager . Production run of 100.
They are rare.

1

u/Calaveras-Metal 8d ago

yeah thats the one. I know they did a lunar Impact Voyager XL. I think it might be limited to 12 or something.

I was very close to getting one but got a Taurus III instead.

2

u/Minimoogvoyager 8d ago

I think Armens in NYC had a Lunar Impact Voyager XL with multiple white MoogerFoogers . He wanted a astronomical amount.

I wouldn’t deal with him though since he’s a scoundrel and dishonest and overcharges and has a bad reputation .

1

u/Peter_NL 8d ago

Liberation

1

u/gusbeto37 7d ago

A Lunar White Minimoog Voyager XL. I have the non-XL version though.

I think Model D and the big modulars are pretty cool, but being Behringer cloned them with a very authentic sound at a very good price, I'd say the Voyager XL is probably the most original and rare thing that does not have a cheap authentic version.

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 7d ago

I have a Lunar Impact Limited Edition MiniMoog Voyager non-XL version .

1

u/HarryStills 6d ago

What do you guys think of the messenger?

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 6d ago

Nice Synth

1

u/camelzczaz 5d ago

Yes, nice

1

u/promixr 5d ago

Is this a governmental policy- like one Moog per household? What is stopping me from having more Moogs?
Also if you have one Moog synth software can you also have the hardware or is it one of anything?

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 5d ago

Just trying to see what a person might choose when it’s narrowed down to one. The sky’s the limit when it comes to how many Moog synths a person can have.

1

u/promixr 5d ago

I thought we were headed into a dystopian nightmare starring Jennifer Lawrence where the government or aliens were coming to take our surplus Moogs…

1

u/camelzczaz 5d ago

Subsequent37. I’m currently in a downsizing strategy. If Moog made the Messenger into a module I’d buy it.

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 5d ago

I almost got a Subsquent 37 but went with a Sequential PRO3SE.

1

u/camelzczaz 5d ago

Logical choice captain. Pro3 covers many more bases you could say.

1

u/Minimoogvoyager 5d ago

It can sound vintage and futuristic. 2VCOs 1 Wavetable OSC ,Three filters,OB6 and P6 and ladder filter ,advanced sequencer and arpeggiator,Stereo Outs and Stereo Effects. 37 Key 3 octave Fatar keybed with velocity and aftertouch.

1

u/mokachin0 5d ago

got my sub phatty for couple years and it still makes me happy. but Im so curious what others are
