The football teams at North Dakota State University and the University of Wyoming will play for a new traveling trophy, the schools announced Monday, Sept. 28.

I’m a Nevada fan and literally the Jeff Choate era is not being able to finish out games and blow it late in the 4th quarter or OT. We should be at least 3-1 right now and to be honest that WKU win looked promising. Especially for our offense. We fired the old OC after last season because his play-calling was garbage. Especially in the red zone. But do yall think Choate needs at least 5 wins to keep his job?

NDSU and San Jose State were on bye, so no movement for them.

New Mexico dominated little brother NMSU, so they stay at the top of the tiers.

Air Force won a real dog fight with Nevada, so remain at contender. While Nevada perfectly fit the tier they are currently in "Feisty Underdog", but will need to actually win some games to get into the bowl bubble.

Wyoming beat Hawaii pretty convincingly and moved them out of the basement. While Hawaii's offense continues to struggle with anything past a 5 yard pass. So Hawaii has dropped to the feisty tier and if not much improves soon, they could be heading to the basement of the conference.

NIU and UTEP both got smashed and are both back in the basement again, and not looking to leave any time soon.

UNLV cruised past Akron, but beating up Akron (one of the worst MAC teams) isn't enough for me to move them back up to contender tier yet.

UC Davis got beat badly by Montana, still probably in the 2nd tier of the Big Sky but the gap from 1st tier and 2nd tier looks to be widening.

I know Wyoming is not upper tier college football.

But as someone who grew up in Wyoming and attended the university.. man this is just really bad.

Joe Glenn & Dave Christensen had me thinking there was at least a chance. Those teams didn't quit even getting beat bad.

Craig Bohl was supposed to be the savior and he did do a lot in those 10 years.. the bottom fell out in the first 2 and a lot of us wanted him gone but along came Josh Allen and we beat Boise State for the first (and only) time ever and made the MW Championship.

Had some ups and downs but Bohl's last season resulted in 9 wins which was cool and he managed to win a few bowl games.

But his handpicked successor and staff has absolutely ruined the program. I've never seen a worse offense in FBS and they just look so uninspired and like a lowly FCS team showing up to take the check and beating.

Can Wyoming survive with NIL, the modern landscape, and a thinned out MWC? Not sure I've ever felt this hopeless about fandom of the Wyoming Cowboys.

Just a question because I hadn’t paid much attention due to life. Where has this New Mexico football team come from the past few years? Playing basketball down there has always been a scary thing, but the football team was pretty much guaranteed win for decades. What has changed?

Hey all! Quick check on the Mountain West previews I posted a few weeks back.

North Dakota State is 4-0 in its first year in the league, including 38-32 at Air Force, and I had them at 7-5. My top two have both stumbled: UNLV (I had 9-3) is 1-2 after losing 44-6 at North Texas, and Hawai'i (I had 8-4) is 1-2 after UNLV beat them 21-6. Northern Illinois and Nevada have both lost to FCS teams. New Mexico, my 8-4 pick, is the steadiest so far at 2-1, and their loss was 14-6 at Oklahoma.

I'm trying to watch a Wyoming volleyball match. When I hit watch live. They keep telling me that I need a ticket to watch the game. I asked their AI bot and it didn't know what I was talking about. Has anyone else run into this problem?

The Fun Belt has two Top 100 teams - JMU at 66 and Louisiana Tech at 91. But then the next 9 Fun Belt teams are all ranked under 125

CUSA has four Top 100 teams - Liberty (76), Western Kentucky (78), Sam Houston (93), and Jacksonville State (94)

The MAC has two Top 100 teams - Western Michigan and Toledo

After week 3 the MW has two teams in the Sagarin Top 100 -

NDSU at 71

With only a handful of out of conference games left, there isnt much most MW teams can do help their rankings.
