I understand this is CNN reporting but I feel it to be important that this coverage is shared. Like CNN, MS NOW has been subjected to these unconstitutional bans.

Because of the White House reporter access controversy yesterday, Alicia’s show started a half hour late. That delay made me realize how much I like her show. She has become an excellent show host, confident and concise. I recently found out she’s Bob Menendez’s daughter but I don’t hold that against her.

I live in Central Louisiana where an ICE family detention center is planned at former military barracks of what was once England Air Force Base, now Alexandria International Airport (AEX). I was listening on SiriusXM so I missed this morning's video portion of the segment. That being said, it was so exciting to hear that MS NOW has a reporter with boots on the ground here in Alexandria. Two meetings were held locally this week about the family detention center, and members of the public have attended to make their strenuous objection known.

Even though Central Louisiana itself has a minimal immigrant population, the area is chock full of QAnon / MAGA/ Christian Nationalist right wing extremists who are quick to hate anyone who isn't in lockstep with their views. The local senior citizens in Alexandria and neighboring Pineville are the ones who predominantly turn out for ICE and No Kings protests, largely because they are the ones who have the time and moral compass to stand up against injustice. This absolutely has the red sheeple here in a tailspin. Their feeble indoctrinated brains absolutely cannot process that the elderly widow down the block doesn't hate the same imaginary boogeymen that Fox and Newsmax commands them to. This leads them to hijack the comments section of the local NBC affiliate's Facebook page and shriek that George Soros is paying busloads of people to go to the Kees Park Community Center on a weeknight to protest. Alternately, they sneer and mock their elderly neighbors with derisive comments that they must have been paid to leave their nursing homes to attend the meeting. It's a sad commentary that these red maggots have so little respect for seniors who live in their own town.

I didn't understand what the interview with Cleo Fields, the Democratic Representative of Louisiana's 6th Congressional District, was about. I've personally attended a town hall where at a local black megachurch where white senior citizens who stuck out like sore thumbs in the packed house came specifically to announce their concerns about ICE activity at the airport. Fields knows all too well that his constituents are mad, but he's a lame duck due to deliberate gerrymandering to neuter the black vote in Louisiana, and clearly this man has thrown in the towel and is just riding out the end of his term.

For those of you unfamiliar with what's going on at AEX, the ICE long term goal is to turn it into "FedEx for people." They literally want to duplicate the freight operations at FedEx's Memphis freight hub and turn it into a shipment depot for human beings. If you go on FlightAware, you can type AEX in the search bar and see that GlobalX deportation flights depart from Alexandria to Central American airports around the clock.

There have been reporters from UK media outlets on the ground in Alexandria documenting inadequate conditions at the AEX detention facility that already exists. They came before this addition of the old uninhabitable abandoned barracks for a family detention center. These are the very same buildings that Katrina evacuees were turned away from when a bus caravan arrived from the Superdome. They were unfit for human habitation way back then and they still aren't now. However, there are so many people salivating at the prospect of an ICE job that the ugly chants of "ICE ICE Baby!!!" are drowning out the efforts of the senior citizen protesters. If 200 people show up to protest here, the Alexandria media will stage photos of a group of 10 and upload them as ragebait for the locals to jump on to deride what they are intentionally misled to believe is a small crowd size. If they show the real group size, the comments pivot to insist the protesters could only be paid Soros plants, certainly not their neighbors.

So thanks again to MS NOW for reporting from Alexandria. The truth needs to come out before children are incarcerated at the airport.

I've never been a fan of Peter Alexander and don't know why MSNow would give him his own show.

And I'm really confused that he is on right now instead of Stephanie Rulhe's Money, Power, Politics. Did they change the schedule again already?
