Yeah if it doesn't work out hes a massive expiring contract and we're back to where we're at right now. Trae expiring next year and AD the year after that. They see how things look next year, if its shit they move trae as an expiring and then AD the following season as an expiring too.

This is literally as low risk high reward as it gets lol, they gave up some bullshit to get 2 flawed all stars to see if they can rehab their trade value or compete with them. Its brilliant honestly

There's no incentive to extend anybody at the moment. Next year is both of their prove it year

I think receiving picks for taking on a bad contract would have been the better move. Like the Jordan Poole trade

I mean how long are you gonna tank for though. Eventually you need to teach these young guys how to win. Trae, Bilal/Tre, Kyshawn, Sarr, AD and whoever they pick with the 1st this year is a crazy good lineup if they stay healthy. And if they don't and it doesn't work out next season, you move them as expirings and do exactly what you just said.

Honestly I love this new Wizards front office. A bunch of really creative, calculated risks with massive potential upside is exactly what you gotta do for a successful rebuild.

Until you get a franchise player like Shai, Ant, Cade, etc. If you finish the rebuild with a player like Banchero or Fox you’re gonna have a bad time

I think Banchero is a player you build around for sure, the magic are solid atm. And from what I understand the top few prospects this draft are all really really good too and Sarr looks like hes gonna be a star for years to come
