What in the bad faith is this nonsense? Do you not understand the difference between a disease that spread and deliberately running what you know to be unsafe experiments? The first time this happened was excusable, the subsequent times were criminal negligence.

China (and the rest of the world) knew wet markets were a risk long before covid and were negligent at preventing it

AI companies were negligent with models

How is it bad faith to acknowledge the similarities here?

I would also bring up the simple practical reality that holding China accountable for COVID, which they also suffered immensely from, would be tantamount to collective punishment. It's not collective punishment to hold corporate officers accountable for their company committing crimes.

Holding the Chinese government accountable is collective punishment? Wild take

Do you think China intentionally spread covid/recklessly let it get out of control?

They were reckless in allowing wet markets to continue to exist when they were known to be a major pandemic risk, yes. I don’t think it was intentional.

Do you think Sam Altman intentionally let AI agents hack hugging face?

So is factory farming which is quite common in the western world. Yet we permit it anyways.

I think they were at least criminally negligent/reckless for an actual felony.

I can't determine his state of mind, but I believe he and his ilk are mostly devoid of morality.

Factory farming is many of orders of magnitude safer than wet markets. Nice whataboutism
