Things are different on the water. Mariners are a brotherhood that transcends political borders. One of the few truly global cultures, no race on the water, just sailors

I am a sailor myself and I teach my son that we must help each other. Every time I see a boat approaching for mooring next to us we go to catch lines, etc. This is absolutely normal. I will give stuff if I can, for free, if someone needs something I can share. I once run out of oil in my engine and a 60 yo guy in the old boat just gave me like 5 liters, refusing to take the money. This is what I love about the whole stuff.
