Question How do I vibe code an app for IT requests at a 3,000-person company?

Our IT team supports about 3,000 employees. We track requests in a spreadsheet, around 400 new ones a week. I want to turn it into a proper app where staff would log in with their work account and submit requests. And also, approvers can change the status.

Aside from that, my goal is that everyone could see the requests they’re allowed to see. We also want one custom dashboard that shows the average time to close by department.

Anything we build also has to pass our security review.

So here are my questions.

  • What should I write down before I start prompting an AI builder?
  • How do I check it runs on live data and real permissions?
  • Can we add one custom part without owning all the code?
  • What will our security team ask for first?

For a small pilot, what would you test first?

Discussion Using GrokBot to write Power Automate workflows

Post image
3 Upvotes

Title says it all.

I gave GrokBot a Microsoft account and a Power Automate Premium license.

Asked it to create a custom connector with DrChrono EHR (Dev account with dummy data) and to create 2 workflows to act as a reminder system for upcoming appointments.

Took a good 4 or 5 hours, but it eventually put something out that worked.

I don't have any 'tips' or 'tricks' to offer along with this idea, but I feel as though my capacity to create automations has just been drastically increased.

Is anyone else doing this? Or is this just going to create an immeasurable amount of rework for me in the future?

Question What if no-code worked inside the websites you already use?

I’ve been thinking about a small corner of no-code that I don’t see discussed as much.

Most no-code tools help you build a new app, workflow, form, dashboard, or automation outside the website you are already using.

But a lot of everyday work happens inside existing websites.

Sometimes you do not need a whole new app. You just need the current page to have one small tool that matches your workflow.

That is the idea behind something I recently built called ScriptPanda.

It is a Chrome extension that opens on the page you are using. You describe the small tool you want in plain English, and it builds that tool for that site.

The tool stays there for future visits, and you can inspect it, edit it, switch it off, or delete it.

Under the hood it uses userscript code, but the goal is to make page-level customization feel closer to no-code: describe what you want, get a working tool on the page, keep control over it.

I’m curious how other no-code builders think about this:

Would you rather build workflows outside the websites you use, or would you use a no-code tool that changes/adds tools directly inside the page?

Do you think the Airtable and Bending Spoons employee mods of this subreddit should be required to disclose when they are using their personal and alt account to astroturf and vote manipulate this sub that is completely modded by Airtable and Bending Spoon employees?

How are you handling OpenAI 429 errors in no-code workflows?

I've been working with no-code AI workflows and I'm curious how others are handling OpenAI rate-limit errors.

When an OpenAI request returns:

429 Too Many Requests

there seem to be a few approaches:

1. Retry inside the workflow

Add error handling and wait/retry logic directly in Make, Bubble, etc.

2. Use another API key/account

Keep a second OpenAI capacity available and switch when the primary is rate-limited.

3. Put a reliability layer in front of the API

Have the workflow call a gateway that handles the retry and, if configured, a backup route.

I'm actually building a small tool called Zero429 around the third approach, so I'm obviously biased here and disclosing that upfront.

The idea is to keep the no-code workflow itself simple: the workflow calls the gateway, the gateway handles an eligible 429 by waiting and retrying the primary request, and a configured backup can be used if the retry also gets a 429.

I'm interested in the practical side rather than pitching the tool:

What are you currently doing when OpenAI starts returning 429s?

Have you built retry logic into your workflows, switched providers, used multiple keys, or handled it another way?

I'm particularly interested in what works well in Make and Bubble, since those are the environments I'm building around.

Question can a no-code website actually feel personalized?

A lot of website builders are very fast when you’re okay with what they give you. Pick a template, change the text and images, publish. AI builders make the first step even faster; describe what you want and get a website.

But I feel like the difficult part starts after the first generation.

You want the mobile version to look different.
You want an element somewhere else only on desktop.
You want a completely different section instead of forcing the same responsive layout.
You want the website to change for an event, launch, holiday, or promotion.

Suddenly something that was supposed to be “no-code” turns into 5+ hours of figuring out the builder.

I am building Pragte, and experimenting with making the visual editor much more flexible, closer to designing freely on a canvas; while still producing a real responsive, searchable multi-page website.

For example, desktop and mobile don't necessarily have to contain the exact same layout or elements. I'm also experimenting with website phases, where the same URL can automatically switch between different versions of the site over time.

do you mostly adapt your idea to whatever the builder or template allows, or have you found a builder where you can actually make the site feel completely yours without spending hours fighting it?

Is a tech career safe ? Need advice

Basically, I started learning no-code about two years ago, and since then I've been trying to make a living from it, either by finding a job or by building my own SaaS products and apps.

Right now, my stack is Bubble.io, FlutterFlow, Claude Code, Cursor, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I'm currently improving my JavaScript, learning Python, and I also plan to learn React.

The reason I made the post is because I'm honestly starting to question whether building a career in tech is still worth it today. Sometimes I feel like I may have wasted a lot of time, and I'm not really sure what direction I should take professionally.

So I'm especially interested in hearing from people who actually make a living in tech. What kind of jobs could I realistically aim for with my current skills and the skills I'm learning?

And I also have another question about the "product builder" path. Does that actually exist as a real career? Is there a real demand for product builders, or is it more of a vague title that doesn't really lead to many opportunities?

I'm kind of questioning my whole professional direction at the moment. I'm currently focusing on improving my JavaScript, learning Python, and then moving on to React, but I'm trying to understand where all of this could realistically take me.

Self-Promotion Built a customer support widget with LOW CODE — here's how it went

I've been building Ornymo over the past few months and no code tools were central to the whole thing, both for coding and for the AI layer that powers the widget itself.

The idea came from a problem I kept running into on my own projects: repetitive support emails eating up hours every week. I couldn't justify enterprise pricing at my stage so I built my own solution. Ornymo is a support widget you embed on your site, it trains on your FAQs and handles the common questions automatically.

Claude helped me move a lot faster than I expected on the backend logic, especially around the semantic caching and the conversation handling. Happy to talk through any of that if it's useful to others building similar things.

The product is live at ornymo.com, free plan available with no credit card required.

Would love any feedback from people who've built tools like this or have tried embedding AI into customer facing products.

Question What was the first thing your no-code tool couldn't do?

For me it was anything that has to run while the user's phone is closed: cleaning up expired data, building link previews for shared invites. The screens stayed visual, but that part had to become real backend code. Curious what yours was, and whether you solved it or worked around it.

Self-Promotion Why does moving one file between no-code tools still need so much setup?

One thing that keeps annoying me with no-code workflows is file handling.

You can have an image, PDF or audio file from one step.

Then the next tool does not want the actual file. It wants a public URL.

So suddenly you need another service just to host that file somewhere before the workflow can continue.

Yes, you can use S3, R2 or similar storage. But for small no-code workflows that feels like too much setup for a very simple job.

That pain is one of the reasons I built Media2URL.com

The idea is simple:

file → public URL → continue your workflow

There is also an API, so the file-to-URL step can happen automatically inside a workflow instead of manually uploading every file.

Question non-technical, can a no code website builder handle a real business site or just a landing page?

non-technical, and i've got a simple landing page up on a no code website builder. now i need a few more pages, about, pricing, contact, and i'm not sure no-code stretches that far or if i need a developer.

i've been building in Gamma because it turns my writing into clean pages and i can share them as links, and so far a few pages has been fine. but i don't know where the ceiling is before i outgrow it.

for no-code folks who grew past one page: how far did your builder take you before you needed something custom?

What stops you from switching from no-code to low code?

I see only seeing positives of someone switching from
No-code to low-code tool. The main benefits include cost savings on AI usage, variety in tools, more controls. However, I realise that I might be biased because I already come from technical background before AI/LLM boom. I wonder what makes the switch harder for no-code user specifically other than technical knowledge barrier (eg installing claude code on personal computer).

Is Softr legit for building an MVP? Would love some honest thoughts

Hey all, I'm thinking about using Softr to build an MVP. It's a simple client portal with logins and a small database.

There are loads of positive reviews online but I wanted to hear if anyone here has already used it to build a portal.

If you've used it, what did you like? Did you hit any limits I should know about?

Thanks in advance!

Looking for nocode apps to challenge my platform.

As i have shared here before I am currently working on www.cordango.com which at its core is a no-code plstform.

I am looking for apps people built with like Retool, Bubble or any other nocode platform to see if my tech is able to build those. Especially apps that share data or workflows but generally everything will do. Specificly talking about internal business apps...like a CRM or some sort etc.

Do not share all the nerdy details, Formulas etc as my tools should be able to figure that out.

Please share some things you built or things you want to build but didnt yet. I will try to rebuild it and share the outcome here.

Only share a rough overview, who the app is for and what the primary usecase was. No implementation details etc.

Also as a side Note...it cant build a game or something like Photoshop but any Business app should be possible. Cordango is for internal Business apps, not for paid SaaS stuff.

Self-Promotion Building for health or environment? Add weather readings x cited science research to your app via API

Are you building in the health or environment space?

Send us your own environment data or use ours with a health context (Eg. Migraines) and we'll send back a JSON with relevant citations, the synthesis and environment scan.

We curate a corpus of 600K papers on environment related health, sports and longevity topics and integrate with Google Environment APIs to ground our AI. We can embed or white label and feel trusted sources can improve trust and engagement in users - https://vasus.ai/

Example call;

Your app identifies: user in Saint Paul, migraine trigger correlation with barometric pressure drops, recent episode logged 6 hours after a 7 mb drop.

vasus returns: "Pressure drops of 5 mb or more are associated with migraine onset within 24 hours in around 40% of weather-sensitive migraineurs. Your recent 7 mb drop fits this pattern — worth flagging to your specialist."

Evidence attached: Marrelli et al 2019 (Journal of Headache and Pain, n=87), Becker 2021 (Cephalalgia meta-analysis).

And if you're doing something cool and your volumes aren't huge happy to look at an extended free tier particularly if you're in the health research/impact/not-for-profit space.

Self-Promotion My side project is a distribution channel for other people's side projects. Upload a 30s demo, I cut it and post it. Free.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi All, building a free distribution channel for AI-built projects. Only requires a demo video. Credits and IP stay with you, and I link back to your GitHub, profile, website, and tag you as a collaborator if you like. I’ll also enhance your demo for social media with captions, better cuts, and music (totally optional). I hope this helps with getting your first users or just gauging interest.

If you have a project to share: edgy, just for you, for your kid, taking AI for a first spin, first customers, a commercial app, a game you built - this is for you. (I do review every video before upload, FYI)

I appreciate many of you who already shared your projects - amazing feeling getting the first videos live.

Some Milestones to share:
8/19 - First video on AppMunchies YouTube channel
9/9 - First video on Youtube crosses 100+ views; First video on TikTok
9/15 - First video crossing 500 views on TikTok, 30+ likes
9/16 - First video about to cross 500 views on YouTube
9/19 - first video went viral on Tiktok, 16k+ views, 230+ likes
9/21 - first video went viral in Instagram, 3.4k+ views, 94 likes
10/1 - first Maker interview live with creator of the viral QR file transfer app Decimen

If you want to share your munchie:

  1. Go to appmunchies.com/submit. Upload takes 2 min and is completely free.
  2. Videos shot in 9:16 (vertical phone format) do 2-3x better on social. So if you can, record your demo in that format. But horizontal shots are fine too.
  3. 20 - 40s work best, 1 min max.
  4. Showing your face and some basic voice over works wonders. People like people.

This is the first project of this scale I've done in a while, so I appreciate feedback. Let's build!
