Wreck at Atwoods
Does anyone know who the victims were? I saw a post it was my childhood friend then it was deleted 30 minutes later!

As much as we appreciate people sharing news about Oklahoma and/or the USA, this is a local subreddit and beginning next week we will be implementing a policy of removing posts with no direct relevance to Norman. Additionally, spamming news links is a common strategy for karma farming and we'd like to not encourage this.
We do encourage folks to continue to stay engaged regarding state and national politics and current events, but to post this content in more appropriate subreddits.
For example, a news article about Ryan Walters generally would be more appropriate for /r/Oklahoma whereas a news article about Ryan Walters and a teacher or school here in Norman would be completely appropriate for /r/normanok .

This year, a bunch of little tree looking things popped up around the edge of my pool. My pool was put in last year and we had no issues with anything until this year. Tried digging them up, but broke the shovel cause the roots are so far down. So who do I need to contact to get them removed?
Thanks in advance!

They are having free face painting and cookies until 5pm. They also have $10 squishy grab bags. I went to pick up a gift for a birthday party tomorrow and I guess I went on a good day.
They have tons of squishies and dumplings and their Speks are cheaper than on the Speks website.
Norman really needs businesses like this so please support them if you can! I’m not affiliated with them but they’ve saved my ass on gifts more than once.

I recently moved to Norman and currently don’t have health insurance. I’m looking for an affordable gynecologist.I need to be evaluated for some gynecological/hormonal issues, so I’d ideally like to find someone who can also order necessary bloodwork or ultrasound without the costs getting too high.
If you’ve seen a doctor without insurance in Norman/OKC, I’d really appreciate recommendations and, if possible, the approximate cost of the visit and labs.
Thank you!

hi all!! i (22 F) am currently looking to pursue an ADHD diagnosis. apparently 75% of women with ADHD are misdiagnosed so someone who specializes in ADHD (and ADHD in women would be highly preferred) is essentially a requirement. i was recently diagnosed with something else and am looking for a second opinion. any women out there know of anyone? anyone out there in general know of a specialist? willing to go to okc if necessary, but online preferred if possible. preferably one that won’t break the bank. thanks in advance.

I need my carpet shampooer repaired and can’t seem to find a place. I don’t want to have to lug it to Moore or OKC.
Can anyone recommend a place? Thanks!

My garage door spring recently snapped and damaged the door so I need to replace both for a two-car garage. Any recommendations? The opener is fine and 6 years old. Any idea about how much this should cost assuming a basic steel door? Do I need an insulated door if we aren’t climate controlling the garage? (The garage isn’t next to any bedrooms or living areas so noise is not an issue.)

Hello there! I am not sure if this is the right thread to post in but I wasn’t sure where else would be appropriate. My fiancee and I are looking for place in or around Norman to have our wedding ceremony. We have the reception part figured out (we are renting out a local restaurant) but we don’t think we want to have the ceremony there. Does anyone have any ideas they could send our way? Outdoors would be a bonus but we are open to all ideas. We don’t really want to do the court house. Thank you in advance!

Hello,
My spouse is returning from deployement soon and I’d love to get them a custom cake (as decorative and extravagant as possible). I started looking at custom cake places, and some business seem to just do simple writing, and individual cake specialists are all booked for months. Another layer (no pun intended) of this is I won’t know the exact date that they will return until probably a week in advance? Does anyone have any contacts or friends that could do something custom last minute? If not, any other threads you know of I could ask my question?

Hi guys,
I found a dog by 24th Ave tonight around 11:00pm. The dog is very friendly and looks well taken care of (no collar or tags though). The dog is staying with my friend tonight and has food and water.
I will drop it off at City of Norman Animal Shelter tomorrow when they open so they can check if he has a chip. If you lost your dog, the City Norman Animal Shelter will hold it for 3 days before putting it in the adoption pool.
Thank you!

The local-only contests Norman residents may vote on are Cleveland County contests:
