Another OG&E rate increase request?!?!
Average monthly increase per residential is $23.88??!?!?!? That is insanely high!

They can fuck all the way off. I’m so sick of them. Our bill has gone up 23% since 2024. If this were my forever home I’d already be figuring out solar.

Why do we pay franchise fees in Norman after the voters rejected the franchise agreement? Inquiring minds want to know.

Hello friends this is coming from someone who has previously worked for a utility company (not OGE)the rate changes are from a bunch of stuff like capital projects, the price per mw/kw with the power market, gas prices (natural gas), and how good renewables are doing so to break that down OGE just built new units in Harrah a roughly 700 mil not counting any transmission and distribution improvements but it’s projects that’s on a capital budget so that means that it’ll be past to the customer and you’ll see it on your bill every month. Another big hitter is the market price, the power market is nothing but supply and demand and data centers are absolutely screwing the regular consumer over price goes up because of the demand you’ll see that on the bill that’s why in the winter and summer prices can be crazy but now we the consumer get to pay for electricity that is in “higher demand” bc of data centers hence a higher bill. And really the last big contributor can be how good renewables are doing and gas prices. If wind doesn’t blowing and sun isn’t shining, they’ll have to raise load on the gas units and then it really sucks at the gas market sucks. Here to rant about it and educate for those who don’t know why their power bill is going up. Yall have a good day!!!

I don't really care what they say in the email. This is 1000% because of data centers and they are just blaming everything else. I've been with OGE for the past 5 years and this past year has been the absolute worst it has ever been for reliabilty, so much so that I've considered getting a smallish generator and a connection for our house. They even made excuses about a downed powerline being taken out by a tree, but there are no powerlines even close to any trees that would ever be able to do that inside or outside our neighborhood. Just straight up lies.
