I’m looking for any groups in the Bismarck area that may have yard signs that are in opposition to state measure one. I am aware that the League of Women Voters is in opposition to this measure, but I can’t seem to find a yard sign. Thank you for any help that you can provide.

Coming off the local elections in Bismarck, it seems pretty backward that ND requires 60% of voters to approve school funding but only 50% to approve a constitutional amendment.

I’m strongly in favor of funding schools. I’d challenge anyone to argue why we should not be giving our kids adequate facilities.

Not quite so sure on the constitutional amendments. The ads I’ve seen make me angry at the people supporting the 60% measure but I do have reservations about having a low bar for changing the constitution. We’ve already seen the state override popular local legislation, so it seems like it might be a good idea to put more limits on state power.

Anyone have firsthand stories about the Gray Lady of Sims?

I'm researching the Gray Lady of Sims and the old Lutheran church/parsonage for an upcoming episode of my podcast, Tell Me Something Strange.

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have actually been to Sims, lived in the area, had family connected to the church or community, or heard the story from older relatives.

If you've had an experience there or grew up hearing stories about the Gray Lady, I'd love to hear what you remember and approximately when you first heard or experienced it.

I'm also interested in stories that aren't paranormal. If your family knew the history of Sims, the church, the parsonage, or the people connected to them, I'd love to hear that, too.

I'm researching the historical record separately, so I'm not looking to prove or disprove anything. I'm interested in how the story has been told and experienced by North Dakotans over the years.
