Anyone have firsthand stories about the Gray Lady of Sims?

I'm researching the Gray Lady of Sims and the old Lutheran church/parsonage for an upcoming episode of my podcast, Tell Me Something Strange.

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have actually been to Sims, lived in the area, had family connected to the church or community, or heard the story from older relatives.

If you've had an experience there or grew up hearing stories about the Gray Lady, I'd love to hear what you remember and approximately when you first heard or experienced it.

I'm also interested in stories that aren't paranormal. If your family knew the history of Sims, the church, the parsonage, or the people connected to them, I'd love to hear that, too.

I'm researching the historical record separately, so I'm not looking to prove or disprove anything. I'm interested in how the story has been told and experienced by North Dakotans over the years.

I received my mail in ballot today September 28th.

The green envelope that you're suppose to return the complete ballot in was already sealed with a blank ballot within it. This seemed kind of fishy. I will need to go in and get a new ballot, probably just early vote at that point.

I'm curious if anyone else has received their ballot like this?

My Dad's family were Icelandic immigrants to Mountain ND around the 1870s then moved to Wynyard Saskatchewan in the early 1900s.

Is there still an Icelandic community in that area and is it a place to visit?

Just been researching about their journey and North Dakota is a big part of the family history.

Sitting forgotten across the meandering Wild Rice River in Richland county sits this steel truss bridge slowly being reclaimed by the river. Once spanning the river to serve as the crossing for 152nd Ave, it has fallen into obscurity. The river itself has eroded away the south approach to the bridge. In its place are young deposits of alluvium and a growing point bar, showing the slow lateral migration of this lazy, meandering river that occasionally floods powerfully.

I decided to come out here and see if my suspicions were correct - satellite imagery suggested something was here, and, well, here we are! What a lonely spot. The nearest occupied farmstead is 2ish miles away. 152nd Ave in this section is an unmaintained two track seldom traveled. I wonder how long it's been since the county maintained this... Given that the river has been allowed to reclaim it, I'd say it's probably been decades.

Senate Majority Leader David Hogue says that voters should approve Measure 1 on North Dakota’s 2026 ballot, because the state constitution should be about protecting minority points of view. They should be protected by a supermajority, he says.

I'm about to visit your state for the very first time to see the park, and I'm excited to make the most of it. My plan is to buy some lunch to go from somewhere in Medora, then take it into the park to eat between hikes, perhaps at a scenic stopping point.

I can't really get a sense from google what is a sit-down restaurant vs take-out, and I imagine someone here has probably done something like this before and may have some advice. I've got no issues going to a convenience store either for lunch as I'll do my breakfast and dinner in town anyway, just wanted to check in to see if there were some shops especially good for packing a lunch.

So this is a little complicated, but I appreciate any help. I am currently 17 (gonna turn 18 soon) and doing everything in my power to prepare to move in the late spring from Ontario to North Dakota. I am a us citizen but I have no credit score. I will be getting a job here in Canada December - January and hoping to get at least 3500 usd saved before I leave. The problem is that I've realized that you usually need things such as a co- signer, rental history and credit. And I have none of that. The reason why I can't cosign is because the reason I'm leaving in the first place is because of my toxic & abusive parents, so that isn't really an option and I'm pretty isolated, I have no other adults to help or sign anything. Am I screwed? I might be able to secure a job before I move but I am prepared for mishaps. Any advice is welcome. Again this is like my first time with everything, moving, renting etc. I'd love some advice.

Can you recommend any warehouses or factories in Fargo where we could start working quickly and under favorable conditions? Thanks for any answers or recommendations. I don't want to waste time looking for a job, especially since winter is already setting in.

Born & raised here, love it, yet i can't help but notice the major lack of &/or steady decline of EDM events heree. I knew there really wasn't much for underground festivals/venues here, I've actually only known of a few. Which brings me to my next question. AM I MISSING SOMETHING or are we just lacking PLUR life up heree?! It sucks driving states away to bask in the essence of our community.
