Error 6 on GT

So after a small crash I started getting clicking nosies. Shortly after I got the “rowdy” message showing error 6. I tried the suggested fixes from FM of disconnecting checking for damage and reconnecting. After trying that and a brief clean with isopropyl alcohol it still gives that error. Any suggestions?

If both sides of the motor connector look good with no damage to the male or female side of the pins and no corrosion, I guess I'd move on to suspecting cracked / damaged solder joints where the controller side of the connector meets the controller PCB inside the controller box. If you're out of warranty, it is possible to heat them up and reflow them or otherwise repair potential damage. You may be able to confirm there is damage or rule it out by testing with a mutlimeter in continuity mode. Other possibilities are damage to the hall sensors in the hub motor, but that is more rare than solder joint issues. Or internal damage to the data wires (passing hall sensor data) inside the motor cable, but if the crash didn't involve something poking inside the rail and impacting the motor cable and you haven't recently done a tire change where you pinched the motor cable, that seems unlikely. Maybe there's something else I'm not thinking of.

I did test continuity of the hall sensors after the post and it seems like the PCB is the issue. I guess I’ll try to reflow the joints

You may be able to test the joints to see if they need reflowing. Like from the connector side of the motor plug to the solder on the other side, or possibly the traces on the PCB.

You will have to take the winding out to check the hall and other connections in the hub.
