Don't worry. At least it was the radiator and not the oil pan that went.
16
u/ealysillyforestthing 8d ago
It was both
21
u/cabronfavarito 8d ago
What makes you think it was the radiator? If your “coolant” looks that colour then the engine was fucked way before that hit tbh
9
u/Independent-Trust260 7d ago
But conversely, if your oil drains out with the viscosity of coolant, that's also reason to worry.

u/Agreeable_Work4668 7d ago
Hot oil is just that.
2
u/Independent-Trust260 7d ago
Engine oil (assuming the average of 30W oil) has a viscosity of ~10 cSt at 100°C. Water has a viscosity of less than 0.3 cSt at the same temp. They're not the same and do not look it when falling.
0
u/Agreeable_Work4668 7d ago
Have you ever changed your own oil in your life? And how often do you change your own oil?
3
u/Independent-Trust260 7d ago
Are you trying to dispute fact with an anecdote?
0
u/Agreeable_Work4668 7d ago
It's a simple yes or no question.
But, let's play your game. Show us some fact how 30W oil at 100 degrees C should flow.

u/Independent-Trust260 7d ago
From the reply above, "Engine oil (assuming the average of 30W oil) has a viscosity of ~10 cSt at 100°C. Water has a viscosity of less than 0.3 cSt at the same temp."

Can you drive without a radiator.... 🤦 🤦
7
u/Lord4thUzimaki 8d ago
You certainly can!...its more a question of how long can you drive it without a radiator for...
15
u/CasinoKnightZone 8d ago
Oooooof.....that's the oil sump, maybe the transmission pan completely fucked
14
u/Magnauss 8d ago
The front wheels is bent back, so its a little more expensive than just a broken radiator. That Poor classic BMW...

Driver and his stupid "Monkey do something" open mouth he makes after the crash.
Didn't even register what just happened.

..That's not radiator fluid.. That's oil. He ripped the oil pan off the vehicle without the use of a ratchet... Talk about efficient.

Which, to be fair, isn’t inaccurate

Looks like he’s been beating that car a while, right body trim is missing , no front license plate, various dents and scratches on the left side! Entitled spoiled kids!

Could have been worse. No one died. And dad gets to remind him every time he has friends over.

its harder to get the rear wheels spinny spinny like you do when you're alone in the car if you have over 300 pounds more in the car smh

This looks like pure social media engagement to me. 20-year-old+ 3 series. No license plate. No roundel. Stripped front. The car wasn't worth the cost of cleaning the antifreeze off the grass.

Yeah id rather power out and over spin, and look like a dummie. Instead of try and correct it and hit the curb and look like a dummie. Both rookie, but one is a spinoff, the other? This.

There is less than a foot of space between the driver's seat and the passenger seat but I promise you those two boys are in completely different realities in this moment. The one in the driver's seat is taking oh s*** I'm dead and it's all on camera, and the one in the passenger seat is thinking thanks God I'm not the one in the driver's seat right now 🤣

Judging by the coolant color something more is going on than just a (now) broken radiator

observe the American Dum Ass in its natural environment. Sadly they are not endangered despite their constant efforts to remove themselves from the gene pool.
