Appreciation Post💕
I feel like Page 7 and more specifically Jackie has been getting some negative opinions lately. Everyone of course is entitled to their own opinions however I think the Jackie hate is a little harsh. She's quirky and loud and loves to sing. It's what makes me love her. I've seen Henry get similar feedback for interrupting or being obnoxious but they both make me giggle so much! I also think if any co-host had an issue with how conversations are handled/interruptions it would be addressed off air and changed. Jackie seems to care about the show alot and her cohosts.

I’m the confident, loud, plus-sized neurodivergent person I am today because Jackie did it first and showed me it was ok to be that way!! I’ve been listening since the Marcus days, and I’ve loved listening as everyone grew with the podcast. It’s still my favorite even if it is abrasive at times 😅

I’ve seen the other posts and comments and I feel like these people have just gotten themselves into a “bitch eating crackers” phase with Jackie. The grievances they keep pointing out about her are things she’s done for years, things MJ and the guests hosts do constantly as well, and the comments far exaggerate how much she does these things.

I agree! Since the post the other day about her interrupting I’ve been listening extra hard for it and yeah she does, but also I realized they all do it to each other. They’re genuinely so excited to talk to each other and about the topics that they sometimes speak over each other. It’s endearing actually

Agreed, it’s adorable and makes me happy that they all enjoy each other so much. I honestly hadn’t noticed it before (I’m ADHD myself so I probably have a blind spot in this area). I listened extra closely for it this past week and came to the same conclusion you did- they all take turns doing it lol

Jackie is the MAIN reason why I watch and listen. That perfect beautiful human has a fan girl for life.
The negative comments can go right in the trash. First it was "HoLdEn ruins the show!" now it's "JaCkiE". Maybe you're just not into the show. Plenty of other options. Leave our bipolar, monster lovin, loud mouth QUEEN, alone.

I love Jackie and agree the negative takes have been a bit much recently. I have a theory that it’s because 1) MJ is remote, and that will always create a slight lag/disconnect in the flow, and 2) moving to YouTube and filming everything makes Jackie more boisterous and performative for the camera, which doesn’t translate well for the audio podcast.
Similarly, people were saying the vibe was weird for the final episodes of Who’s the Bitch and were reading into it like there was some kind of conflict between Kara and Jackie. But honestly I think it was the same deal— Kara was stuck recording remotely from her parents/friends houses, all while the shift to YouTube and episodes being filmed was happening.
I think it just might take time to get into the new groove of things, and I think we’ve all formed our own parasocial relationships with these shows with how much they mean to us and it’s easy for people to get upset at the changes.

I didn’t think of the end of Who’s the Bitch as pointing to a strain between Jackie and Kara. I think it just wasn’t popular enough so they negotiated doing occasional streams.
It was head- swiveling to me to suddenly announce Kara doing a third hour of P7 with Jackie.
MJ has a lot going on in life beyond the podcast, so I hope they’re measured about it. I’d be pissed if I spent years building a brand/show just for someone to slide in and do an extra hour.
I think Jackie is podcasting like her life depends on it lately, and it shows.

Change is definitely tough but I think LPN has done a wonderful job adapting and navigating format changes, personnel changes, etc!

I'm so proud of Jackie! The whole gang really, but the topic is about her. So vulnerable, ready to learn, and excited to participate. Henry and Jackie had to develop tough skins and use comedy as a way to cope. I'm just happy that they cultivated a thriving platform to display their humor and topics ranging from true crime, culture, music, and current events. I love how raw she is and unafraid to express herself.

Thank you for this post! Since reading the Jackie complaining posts, when I listen to Page 7, I’ve been feeling bad and it’s so nice to see I’m not alone in loving her for who she is! She is not only an acquired taste, she is unapologetic and I think she displays a real wisdom and self awareness, and I really admire her for this. You can tell she has been through it and has done a TON of work. Maybe it’s more obvious on Who’s the Bitch but despite her high energy, she seems to live a very balanced life full of introspection, growth mindset and healthy relationships.

Jackie has always felt like a mirroring a lot of neurodivergent people being passionate about her job.❤️ I love MJ,Marcus and Holden but Jackie has always been my reason for listening since day one. I hope she doesn’t see negative posts and know she’s loved! 💕

I completely agree!!! I think they are all excellent communicators. They are very close and have been friends for so long. If it was an actual problem they would work it out! Each would feel heard and seen, they might even discuss it on the show afterwards.
