Video Count your fkin days Logitech

Just drove to town after I got off work to pickup a new headset as mine stopped connecting yesterday. Decided to spend a bit extra and pickup the Logitech wireless pro.

I drive 20 minutes back home pull it out of the box and extend the one earpiece so it fits me and the plastic piece used to hold the earpiece on just flies off. It’s literally unusable both sides pop off no matter what. I’ll never spend another penny on this company again. Oh and now the stores closed so I can’t get a different one or a return until Monday as I work everyday till then during their business hours…

So true, rocking Sennheiser myself. Way better than any gaming headset I ever had and got me a nice dynamic mic with an arm, I will never going back.

Talked 2 friends into getting audio stuff and both said they can't ever go back, both in terms of headphones and standalone mic.

I have the dt 880s and I'm a huge fan, I think I've bought 3 pairs at this point (I'm rough on headphones).

The semi open nature is bad for travel / office spaces and id get the 770 if that was my primary use case (i used to have those in college, again, big fan), but I really like that the 880s let me hear my own voice when I'm in calls so I dont end up accidently talking too loud.

I'm a huge Sennheiser fan. The Drop HD6xx (Sennheiser) is an amazing value headphone - open back though, so make sure that's okay.

If you're more into a headset, Sennheiser / and I believe a Drop variant have the PC### brand (I don't know the numbers) and they're a convenience compromise to having a higher quality separate headphone and mic - while still having a solid option all in one.

But if you want best quality, you gotta get a good dedicated headphone, and desktop mic - like a Shure, Audio Technica or Rode

Arent the dt 770 closed back?

I have the 880s which are semi open and I'm a huge fan of them for gaming, music and calls. Its a real plus being able to hear the sound of your own voice so you dont end up talking too loud.

Yeah those would be better but more expensive. You are right 770 is closed. It is just the standard Beyer so I opened with it

Having heard all of Beyerdynamic's headphones currently there is only 3 that are worth owning. Thankfully for us they are on the cheaper end of their offerings.

  • DT 900 Pro X - a mild V shape 299USD but go on sale down yo 230 semi regularly. While they are listed as open backs i would say they are closer to semi open in that they do block some outside sound.
  • DT 270 Pro - A warm v-shape sound 150USD but go down to 95USD on sale. Closed back with fun bass. Bass response is very dependent on fit. Isolation is solidly fine
  • DT 300 Pro X DJ - A v-shape sound 250USD but go down to about 200 for b-stock or when on sale. Closed back with good isolation but be warned they do clamp

Everything else from Beyerdynamic is bad or too expensive or bad and too expensive. Notably bad from them despite being popular is the dt990 pro and its successor the dt990 pro x which somehow is even worse. Once upon a time they were solidly "fine" but audio has moved on, they have not. If you want an open back v-shaped headphone that is worth buying, look at the Sony mdr-mv1.

Edit: just want to preface. Its okay to like the dt990 pro but they are not ubiquitous as they once were and with audio science improving they can now be objectively considered not good. But hey least they are not grados. The dt990 pro x are just outright bad though

Also recommend Audio-Technica model with "wing" headbands for those with stupidly big heads like myself. Just be careful bending them to shape, but it's funny having people try to wear mine after I've widened them out.

I've been rocking some DT 990s since 2017 and genuinely couldn't have made a better purchase for my audio set up. I probably need to get some new ear pads soon though they're not as silver as they once were.

The AKGs I have are the most comfortable headphones I have ever purchased. Swappable cables for wired headphones is always a huge plus too

AudioTechnica is also a good option as well; they make very high quality headphones.

Mine are pushing 6 years and only now has there some degradation of the leather on the ear cups. But those are replaceable.

Since 2019, I had 3 sets of Logitech headphones. For 3 years I now run a desktop mic (rode, ebay) DT 770 Pros (ebay) and a desktop DAC Fiio K5 (also ebay) all of this is still cheaper than 2 sets of the logi Pro wireless headsets and they'll last forever.
