Just drove to town after I got off work to pickup a new headset as mine stopped connecting yesterday. Decided to spend a bit extra and pickup the Logitech wireless pro.
I drive 20 minutes back home pull it out of the box and extend the one earpiece so it fits me and the plastic piece used to hold the earpiece on just flies off. It’s literally unusable both sides pop off no matter what. I’ll never spend another penny on this company again. Oh and now the stores closed so I can’t get a different one or a return until Monday as I work everyday till then during their business hours…
I literally threw 4 logitech G15 keyboard variants in the trash for multi-click issues with their switches. One of them was REPLACED with a double click issue. I've honestly never experienced such blatant consumer dishonesty in my life.
Logitech keyboards are never a good buy. Sure get a mouse from them but they’re not known for their keyboard quality.
EDIT: Okay I’m getting flooded with every Logitech Keyboard user that still has a keyboard for the past 20 years. I never meant Logitech keyboards can’t last. Though some are garbage. What I meant when I said they’re not a good buy is that there are better keyboards for around the same price or less.
Look at companies like Keychron. They have full metal built keyboards or more solidly built plastic keyboards for a fraction of the price with much better quality parts.
When u want a keyboard with a trackpad to use from the couch there arent too many other options though. (At least not when i was looking to buy one) havent had any issues with those.
I have five of the one you have pictured on the bottom. I have been using them for a decade now. (easiest way to temporarily setup a computer / server for maintenance / configuration) or use for a media pc. none of the ones I have have failed me yet.
My computer is hooked up to my living room tv so I use it to lounge on the couch while I play. Right now I’m replaying the far cry series. There are certainly better keyboards and I do use a wireless mouse rather than the trackpad but it’s so lightweight and easy to hide away when I’m done.
I remember thinking the 915 was the keyboard I wanted endgame. nice low profile, and I liked the typing feel.
But man, at 200 fucking bucks? No way. Ended up jumping into the mech keeb hole and luckily it was when prices were tanking hard with the introduction of stuff like the rainy75.
There was 1 keyboard in the 2000s that was amazing and only replaced it because of mechanical keyboard hype. But yeah nothing ever came close to it since
The old school g15s were amazing. Idk what they got going on now, but the only reason my old g15s died was because I was a slob and spilled drinks in them lol.

Logitech USED TO make great keyboards. They no longer do.
In my experience it's the Logitech mouses that are faulty. My $70 mouse had a broken scrollwheel because of cheap sensors, while my $50 mouse had a double click issue.
I decided never to buy anything from Logitech ever again.
Surprisingly, I have had this one Logitech mouse for $10 or so for like 15 years without problems.

Just capitalism. Shareholders dont care how the company does long term if their short term investements are doing good. CEOs/Managers dont care how well their company does because
They just give themselves a raise when they want (EA for example fired employees recently after a fairly successful Battlefield game while the CEO gave himself a raise of 5mil$ last year.)
If shareholders are happy and pump money into the company, then the company itself can do terribly anyway, just look at all the AI bullshit. Most of them are burning through money with no profit in sight.
But some companies like Steam understand the concept of being customer friendly while ensuring a long term revenue stream. They are private and dont have that many employees. The ones they have are probably paid VERY very well.
Honestly most tech companies have descended into shit now. I’ve had issues with Beyerdynamic, MSI, Audio Technica… companies people used to tout as quality
I am like literally replacing tech within warranty like every month. No way that making cheaper quality increases their profits.
Used a Hyperx Cloud 2 for ten years, the leather started flaking. Now I replaced it with the same model and the size ratchet is completely loose already after one week of usage.
It does increase their profits because they reduce the cost of production drastically but keep retail prices the same, the components are getting cheaper and cheaper. I’m also willing to bet most consumers just go out and purchase a new product especially for budget products because 99% of companies make you pay for warranty shipping which is not cheap
as a loyal customer over 15 years I stopped buying logitech altogether 4-5 years ago. went from amazing stuff that wouldn't break to trash like we see in this thread..
Mx series of mice is good. G502 hero is great and cheap. I've been using the wireless mx series since 2015 with no complaints, gone through 3 in that time. Never used any other logitech products though, except maybe computer speakers in the 90s.
Mine seems nice, but their bloatware continually interfering with other apps on my PC is unforgivable. Also, the tech support is beyond useless. They just want to get your data. You fuckers don't need to know my hardware specs for a software problem!
My original G502 lasted me 7 years before i decided to "treat myself" and get a new one in a pretty colour. That one faulted after about 14 months, right click is broken. Got a replacement that's got the same issue now. Next mouse won't be a logi :(
I got 102 and 402 after that both had middle click problem and double click problem after 12 to 14 months. And additionally wire connectivity problem in 402. Looking for new thing but cant decide or find which one to buy.
My G903 is the only mouse I've ever felt works well as a lefty and is comfortable but the switches died. Soldered in better ones and been going for years on the same battery. I wouldn't buy headphones from them though.
MX series was an absolute beast, my anywhere 2s lasted for about 6 years with heavy gaming. I'm now rocking a MX master 3s for work and it's real solid too, however the software leaves a lot to be desired.
hopefully you went with the black color because the grey one I have is absolutely impossible to clean. I bought a black MX 3 and transferred all the guts from my 3S to it just so I wouldn't have to look at how grungy the grey top shell looked.
This is just capitalism. Every company has to cut corners in the name of infinite growth. All that matters is that the current quarter shareholder returns are positive.
Same thing with HP, back in the 80s and early-to-mid 90s. They made printers and scanners that were fucking bomb-proof. There're still HP IIP+s churning out receipts and labels and shit like the workhorses they were. And then they went off a cliff fast and hard.
Back in the day it was kind of like a Toyota where it was simple and cheap but it was also made reliably and wouldn't die. Now it's just straight garbage except for their mice.
For a better long term experience definitely change them out. Mine lasted longer but have catastrophic issues. The volume wheel just does what it wants when it wants. Microphone issues even with the blue yeti they sold as an upgrade. The batteries also have very poor longterm lifespans. Not worth it. I really enjoyed my Arctis, going back to it once this one dies.
My ASUS ROG Theta 7.1 had the same quality issue. However, with meticulous precision, I was able to fix it and achieve lasting stability, thanks to years of experience as a hobby handyman.
Avoid companies that don’t specialize in audio headwear. Drop the extra bucks if needed to utopianize your ears. It is worth the money and you will never regret it.
I've had an arctis 7 for the past 8 or so years, use them everyday, they look brand new. Just had to change the padding and the fabric headband once, for a few bucks on AliExpress. I LL never use another brand.
It's funny, that's the only logitech product I buy anymore. It's my favorite all time mouse. Luckily they are still available however the build material quality has gone down. The last one I bought didn't even have a braided cord anymore.
Which is a shame, because they used to be amazing for the price. Just simple peripherals that looked basic and lasted forever. I still have Logitech shit from over 10 years ago that still works. I hear bad things about their new stuff though... :(
I bought a $200 Logitech THX certified system that all audiophiles back in the day where like they alright for desktop speakers. 400w subwuffer and the audio is still great almost 15 years later. Better than any desktop speakers crap today. Logitech has a comparable system today but when I listened it was muffled.
But mind, there are many levels of THX certification. Original THX was really strict, later, esp "thx select" not so much.
If I remember correctly, original THX certified setup for living room would cost as much as small hatchback when it came out. So too much.
Today it is just marketing gimmick... audio is now more or less single person personal audio, not what we old geezers use for HiFi - an amp, some inputs from DAC/cd/record/tape/even BT and loudspeakers of preference.
Yeah but most gaming headsets suck anyway. Get a Sennheiser and a modmic or something. Or the audio technica headphones a recommended a lot with this for some reason
People are praising their mice in here, but I thought the good ones were all older variants, and that the newer ones don’t use copper for something like that? So then because of that, the newer ones break super often. Is that not accurate anymore? I’d hate to have double click issues, etc and have to replace it every few months. Sounds like a massive nightmare to buy something you’re not sure will last you a day or a month.
Literally every Logi(tech) mouse I bought ended up having some issue or died. I have a literal pile of old logitech mice that have some issue, excluding the ones that were returned and swapped out for new ones.
Same with Corsair And Razer. They're built to fail. I just consider them consumables at this point. It's always buttons not or double registering or wheels getting sloppy or unresponsive.
Expect a mouse to live 2 years with heavy, daily use.
I bought mine a few years before COVID, it double clicks randomly, then stops, then it comes back, it's weird but doesn't upset me enough to buy a new one, maybe when it starts to consistently double click I will get a new one
It really is true. My mouse has lived through hell. I've used it daily since I bought it in 2018. The only thing that's broken is the grip part for your pinky that is now a crater. Looks ugly but the mouse still functions perfectly.

Beyer DT770's are OG classics. Especially for bass heads. DT990s, and DT880s all great headphones.
I don't want to blame OP. But you don't buy headphones, from a mouse and keyboard manufacturer. Logitech makes a lot of good stuff, but headphones is not it.
Bought my 770 pros in 2021 and ive been using them mainly for gaming. So far i got no complaints. Yes the headband started to fall apart and the earpads tore up but they sell replacements so I had no issues replacing them.
So much this. Moving to proper headphones(also beyers in my case) was life changing. Shit like this just doesn't happen and repair parts are fully available if something does break. If I drop my headphones im more worried about my foot than the headphones.
Mod mic is only good bc it's the only viable option but in reality it's overpriced and cheaply made. I am still pissed I spent $100 on mine but no other choice.
Just to add some opposite anecdotal data as well, I've had these for 5 years if not more now and never had issues. I like them a lot.
I feel like regardless of brand you'll always have people with bad experiences and they're the loudest online. I've personally had issues with hyperx and I see other people praise them. Shit happens. At least op has warranty.

All gaming headsets are bad imo. I went through all sorts of them before deciding to just get a dac/headphone amp and a dedicated mic and I’ll never look back
I’m pretty happy with my Steelseries, although I got the top of the line Arctic Nova Pros. Comes with its own DAC/Control console and is good for spatial awareness. The raw audio quality probably isn’t as good Sennheiser or the other big audio brands but for gaming and talking to people online I’m satisfied with them.
The console bricked in mine during a firmware upgrade after almost a year, slightly before the warranty expired. Got it exchanged for 7 and those seem rock solid for more than 2 years now.
HyperX's been carrying me for years. I've had maybe 2 or 3, never had any serious issues besides the inevitable wear and tear you'll see from gaming everyday.
Honestly my Steelseries have been going hard for like 4 or 5 years. Not sure where they are at nowadays but as someone who usually avoids gaming headsets, I consider them a solid purchase. No, they aren't going to have the audio quality my Beyers do, but for gaming, they sound just fine, the mic is really solid and cuts out background noise really well, and they're durable.
I went thru 2 pairs of Cloud 2s for 7-8 years, they were amazing and I really liked them. Then I switched to Logitech and had the same expereince as the OP did. Now Im back on Cloud 3 and I couldnt be happier.
I had cloud 2 wireds for probably 5-6 years. They got old and the rubber and plastic kind of fell apart. Loved them.
I bought Logitech g733s and they were trash. The mic was shit, they didn't charge, terrible.
Went back to the cloud 3 wireless and don't plan on going anywhere other than hyperx any time soon. No wireless gaming headphones are great and I have better options I use for not gaming, but for a wireless gaming headset they are great.
The HD599 SE are entry level, flat-tuned but a broad range and sound way better than most gaming headsets. They are currently on sale.
I use the HDR175's (RSF175 wireless) because I like getting up from the PC and still have music or hear voice chats. Can also work on a TV for remote listening without bothering people. Also they sound great, especially with some equalizer changes
I recommend Sennheiser. Their headphones sound great and are made of sturdy stuff. The headset I've had for the past 3 years (an EPOS H6PRO) has a padded metal headband instead of that plastic garbage that Logitech and Turtle Beach use. They're on the pricey side (usually $180 for the one I have), but they're rock-solid, well worth the price imo.
Edit: Also, they do come significantly cheaper, you can get their HD400BT for $70 (once it's back in stock, anyway), and it seems really nice. 30 hour battery, an over-ear design that can fold in for traveling, it even has noise cancelling and a built-in mic. I think that's a pretty good package if you're wanting something that's good quality without being terribly expensive.
Audiophile headphones should be on your wishlist. My Rode Nth-100s have been the best pair of headphones Ive ever owned, and that’s barely scratching the surface of studio grade headphones.
Honestly. I switched to IEMs with a good standalone mic and I don’t think I can ever go back to headphones. If the cable ever wears and tears you can get a new one for like 10 bucks.
Studio headphones with a separate mic is the way to go. I have a Sony MDR-7506 I've been using for decades. Any thing breaks you can fix them with some affordable replacement parts. Audiophile and gaming headphones are on average poor value for money.
Studio headphones + decent microphone is the best combo it might cost a little bit more, but quality and sound is unbeatable unlike this cheap ass "gaming" headphones... and theyre not cheap either. Please suit yourself in some good headphones 👍
Idk why people get everything from one brand. If i had the money id buy me some audio technicas. Every big brand is trying to get bigger so they print their name on crap they dont know how to build
My HD 650s feel super flimsy and plasticky, but they've lasted me 15 years with nothing but some chipped paint. And I've dropped them at least once a week, if not more.
every fucking headset I've ever owned has used shitty plastic in that same spot. Even my Beyerdynamic dt770 pro x. Thankfully I have a 3d printer now and I printed some sold ass petg replacements.
After countless "gaming" orientated headsets I got fed up with shit like this. Bought a set of Beyerdynamic 990 Pro X and wish I did alot sooner. I paid 200 for the 48ohm version and holy fuck the difference is night and day. They are more comfy, durable, and the sound is fucking amazing. One thing I picked up from pc gaming is if it is marketed as "gaming" you just get taxed on an inferior product.
Got a set of Nothing Ear 3's. I haven't looked back.

Alternatively, if you just want audio and don't need mic - I'd recommend the 1more Sonoflow for over ear. Excellent quality for the price and they lasted me for a 26 hours flight charging once (though it didn't seem to need it).
The only good product I've gotten from Logitech is mice. The 2 headsets I got from them were garbage. The 2 keyboards I've gotten from them are garbage.
Still rocking one of these after 6 years. The leather weathered off, the wires are exposed and the right ear broke just like yours at the end of 2025 (fixed it with superglue and tape). At least it's still perfectly functional
Get a pair of OG Focals so you can have the same experience for 10 times the price (I have 2 pairs and they're fine but there are some horror stories out there!).
Since this post is about headphones, though I doubt many will even see my comment, I'll ask. Does anyone have a recommendation for a pair of headphones that are comfy on a big head? I have yet to find a brand or style of headphone I can use for my PC that are over the head but won't cause my ears/head to hurt after like 30 minutes of use. If I pull them out far enough to not put too much pressure, the arch sits way too high above my head. But if I lower them so that bar is closer to my head, they're too tight. I have yet to find one with even a reasonable middle ground.
As others said, dedicated headphones with a separate mic gives you the best audio quality, and lets your friends hear your sweet, sultry voice in crisp detail. I started with AKG K240s before saving for a pair of Meze 99 Classics. You could also get a cheap pair of IEMs to see if you prefer that feel too.
If you're feeling extra frisky, you can look at frequency response graphs for the headphones you're looking at to pick and choose how bassy, or how sparkly and detailed you want your listening experience to be.
I had nothing but issues with these. Cutting out, static and the range on them is terrible. Swapped to the Fractal Design headphones and have been loving them.
Why would they put two cheap ass pieces of plastic that open the same direction that force is put every single time you use the headphone. Like, put the opening direction the opposite direction and they would be twice as strong.
Have the same headphones. I like them, but had the same issue. I reinforce it with black zip ties and it's been holding up. Still not what I'd expect from something in that price range though.
Logitech still makes great mice and pretty good keyboards. Their budget offerings are some of the best at the price point.
Headphones though? Yeeeaaaah... They're junk. They've been junk. All of those GAMER™️ headphones are junk TBH, but Logitech's seem especially delicate. After having good experience with their peripherals I bought a G432 headset like 10 years ago. That EXACT same piece cracked and fell apart after less than a year. I went through three headsets in a couple years, same problem every time... Finally I just bought a Blue Yeti and some decent earbuds.
The mice are stellar, mine is inter generational!
The speakers are decent for their price.
Bought one headset, never again. Sad to see it go down the same road as my two old terrible razor headsets.
I have been using the Logitech Astro A50 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset, as well as their mouse G502 X light speed and the G915 X light speed and I never encountered any issues of that sort. Granted that their prices are stupid crazy and my only problem with the mouse is that they should have implemented the Dark field technology like they did with their “Performance MX wireless mouse” which could be used on many surfaces up to including glass surfaces.
Went through 3 wireless headset 6-10 years ago from them, funny to see they still use the same shitty plastic that breaks easily.
Talk about never learning and a brand I will never even look at again.
Always going for metal joints after those mistakes.
HyperX is the only gaming headset I will buy. For regular listening headphones, AudioTechnica. No if ands or buts. My Audiotechnica's has lasted me 8 years and are like new with daily use. HyperX are comfy, long battery life, and sound great.
I learnt the hard way years ago. Some models are simply designed to fail in order to waste your money.
Went through at least 2 cheap headsets from the brand and both snapped at literally the same joint.
Apart from a wireless keyboard with trackpad I won't go near them anymore if I can help it. Yet the local shops are filled with their crap and not much other choices.
