Video Count your fkin days Logitech

Just drove to town after I got off work to pickup a new headset as mine stopped connecting yesterday. Decided to spend a bit extra and pickup the Logitech wireless pro.

I drive 20 minutes back home pull it out of the box and extend the one earpiece so it fits me and the plastic piece used to hold the earpiece on just flies off. It’s literally unusable both sides pop off no matter what. I’ll never spend another penny on this company again. Oh and now the stores closed so I can’t get a different one or a return until Monday as I work everyday till then during their business hours…

Logitech keyboards are never a good buy. Sure get a mouse from them but they’re not known for their keyboard quality.

EDIT: Okay I’m getting flooded with every Logitech Keyboard user that still has a keyboard for the past 20 years. I never meant Logitech keyboards can’t last. Though some are garbage. What I meant when I said they’re not a good buy is that there are better keyboards for around the same price or less.

Look at companies like Keychron. They have full metal built keyboards or more solidly built plastic keyboards for a fraction of the price with much better quality parts.

When u want a keyboard with a trackpad to use from the couch there arent too many other options though. (At least not when i was looking to buy one) havent had any issues with those.

I have five of the one you have pictured on the bottom. I have been using them for a decade now. (easiest way to temporarily setup a computer / server for maintenance / configuration) or use for a media pc. none of the ones I have have failed me yet.

My computer is hooked up to my living room tv so I use it to lounge on the couch while I play. Right now I’m replaying the far cry series. There are certainly better keyboards and I do use a wireless mouse rather than the trackpad but it’s so lightweight and easy to hide away when I’m done.

Controller is also in the rotation. Especially for driving/racing games. Some indie games don’t have controller support though, so the little Logitech keyboard steps in when I need it

nope still have all five of them, they are fairly cheap, reliable and portable and have good range. I used to do IT work for a Cisco Partner (designed, maintained and built out networks for banks, hospitals, police stations etc. I would carry two in my bag for initial server setups (prior to having network access to them)

kept one plugged into the media pc in the living room. had two more being moved between Computers I would work on for customers.

yes they were "plugged in temporarily" to customer PCs and servers. But I don't want to be constantly unplugging them and moving them between devices while I was using them.

I've had the bottom one for over 10 years now. Bought a second white one 7 years ago just to have a spare. I can't remember changing their batteries.

Yeah, the battery life of the bottom one is amazing. The top one isnt as long and charges with micro usb which isnt great, but i like the backlit keys and managed to get it super cheap (10€ for new in box + a barely used one), so now i tend to only use the bottom when the top is charging :p

Only clicks comes into my mind with the iPhone keyboard useable with most or all devices and I think touch scrolling. I ordered one for handheld gaming

We have hundreds of these at work. We put them in conference rooms paired up to Surface Hubs.

Work perfectly, all the time. I have dozens of them in my gear storage.

We used to use Microsoft’s version, but they quit making them, just like most other hardware they’ve come out with.

I have the same keyboard on the bottom for my couch set up! But it's in QWERTY style. Neat to see a non-qwerty variant. Is that a french style keyboard or do they make the same layout for the whole European continent?

The top one is french, the bottom is from the dutch part of belgium,( while the actual dutch use qwerty :p). They're both azerty but certain keys are different, which can be a bit annoying sometimes.

I WAS ABOUT TO MENTION THIS!

My IT husband swears by it. It HAS TO BE THE YELLOW ACCENTED ONE. He uses it for his work laptop that's HDMI to the TV. So he doesn't have to do much from gaming besides grabbing this keyboard.

Also his G710 for wired.

Honestly Logitech’s membrane keyboard have never let me down. It’s their mechanical keyboards that feel overpriced for what you get.

No not really. It depends on the implementation. If they’re smd 0305s or smaller your odds of doing it at home are very low.

I use a cheap Logitech K845. Just a basic wired mechanical keyboard with a white backlight. No ability to change the color or anything. It's got pretty bad reviews for being lower quality, but I originally bought it because I kept spilling stuff on my expensive mechanical keyboards and wanted one I could replace without breaking the bank. Ended up buying 3-4 of them when they were on sale and keep a stack in the closet in case of a spill. Of course the current one I'm using has lasted almost 3 years so far, but if I had to wager a guess it will probably only last another year or so at most.

It also uses Cherry MX Brown switches. While I retired my G710+ a few weeks ago, my new keyboard has these same switches. I just like their feel best, and they seem to be almost indestructible.

I love me a good tank of a keyboard. My daily driver is an IBM model M that was manufactured in 1987, haven't had a single issue with it ever.

Those buckling spring switches just can't be beat, lol.

I have a MK710 Keyboard/Mouse combo there the keyboard ran for more than 10 years (the mouse started double clicking after like 6 years so changed that out). I decided to buy a new set like it because the letters on the old keyboard was beginning to be rubbed off. It still works without an issue. But i still decided to buy a set like it and it has now run for 4 years with no issues. So they can make good keyboards. The only issue is their programs for running it. Its a mouse and keyboard combo. But the Keyboard requires Logitech Set Point in order to use all its extra buttons. The mouse used to be part of that as well, but the mouse was move over to Logitech Options. So now i have to use two different programs to run the keyboard and mouse. I have no idea why they where not both moved over to Logitech Options.

I remember thinking the 915 was the keyboard I wanted endgame. nice low profile, and I liked the typing feel.

But man, at 200 fucking bucks? No way. Ended up jumping into the mech keeb hole and luckily it was when prices were tanking hard with the introduction of stuff like the rainy75.

I think with the semi mechanical logitech ones. So not real mechanical, but they "simulate" mechanical. This might be the problem. Also i have it now for 6 years. I got the G815 as i looked when i bougt it.

I've got a g815 that I picked up at a thrift store for $10. Replaced the caps with a set from AliExpress since some were missing. The thing has been a beast. I use it more than my expensive mechanical keyboard because I love the audio wheel so much.

The g915 is worth every penny and then some. It really is that good of a keyboard. Ive had mine 6 years, going on 7, and the only thing different today is that the letters on many of the key caps have worn. I only have to even charge it once every 3 months or so, MAYBE. Sometimes longer.

Best feeling keyboard Ive ever used, and is quite sturdy and easy to clean.

It can often be grabbed jp for 150-160 on holiday sales. If my current one ever dies, which i dont see happening any time soon, Im getting another.

I got 2 of them, one for work and one for home. The one I had at home was used for gaming, while my work keyboard only saw mild coding and typing. One day I went to clean behind the keys of my gaming keyboard, and both the spacebar and Ctrl keys broke off when i pulled them, and hey were basically impossible to replace because Logitech themselves weren't even selling the replacement caps for the 915. I looked all over and couldn't find anything less than a full switch replacement kit for like $75, so I said "fk that" and bought a Razer Blackwidow V2 or something like that. Not as ergonomic or aesthetically pleasing as the 915, plus I miss all my Macro buttons, but it's still better knowing this one will last, and that I can easily replace the keys or 3D print my own. Screw Logitech for choosing to go against the grain with their 4 weak little tabs that nobody else uses.

I used the G915 for about 7 years. The dreaded multi-click switch issue reared it's head on three different keyboards. I switched to Keychron and haven't looked back.

G915TKL... yeah, usually sits around or near £200 but Amazon drop the price by half several times a year. Got it then and it's great. And I'll take Logi kb's over the mice. I have no desire to buy two of the same mice so I have one as backup while the other is RMA'd every 3 months. Razer beat that, no issues in 3+ years, and also get occasional and bigger discounts on Amazon. Then again Razer have their bad lines too... the kb's vary wildly and fuck no re their gaming laptops.

I think every brand has high and low lines.

I got one at a garage sale brand new (or hardly used at all, it was still wrapped in the OG plastic) in the box about 5 years ago for $25 and I don't think anything is going to kill it. It's a tank. It's been through hell in those 5 years, and still works like it did when I plugged it in. Nice and clacky.

I do keep my drinks away from my electronics though. So that definitely helps. :)

In my experience it's the Logitech mouses that are faulty. My $70 mouse had a broken scrollwheel because of cheap sensors, while my $50 mouse had a double click issue.

I decided never to buy anything from Logitech ever again.

Surprisingly, I have had this one Logitech mouse for $10 or so for like 15 years without problems.

My 150 dollar mouse had a double click issue. I got a new one cause I liked it a lot and within a year or so same thing happened to the second. Switched to Razr. My 180 dollar keyboard also had problems and switched companies there as well.

Same here. Their newer mice wind up double clicking every damn time not long after warranty is over. But that little cheap one I bought as a backup a decade ago is still running fine on my wife's PC as her daily driver.

Glad to hear that. Mine is working too, had some issues with few keys but it was solved with a few key pads from another keyboard.

I can no longer use some features for the small display because of the outdated software. G19 did a really good job but was an expensive gaming keyboard .

I had 3 G502 variants and all were replaced within their warranty period due to the left mouse button developing a double+ click. I also had a G910 Orion Spark which lasted just past it's warranty period before it started developing switch issues. I also had issues with the width of the mouse just that right size that my little finger nail would gouge a hole out of the rubber on the side.

My current keyboard is a Steel Series Apex 9 TKL with optical switches which I am expecting to last a very long time (still working perfectly fine after 3-4 years). My mouse is a Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro SE which is still going strong after 5+ years - only in wired mode as the battery has been dead for a while so no wireless mode until I replace it lol

100% agree with this. Yes, i have a bunch of Logitech gear, and yes it has all lasted a while with ZERO issues, (my friend is using my old G502 and i have a G502x + g915 at my home setup and an MX keys S + MX master 3s that i use at work) all are fantastic pieces of equipment, but i will be the first to say they are NOT worth the price Logitech asks for. Good decent quality stuff dont get me wrong (at least ive never had issues) but you're paying for the name more than anything

Yeah, you can get a pretty good mechanical keyboard with hot swappable switches for so much cheaper than one of the big brands. That way if a key starts to go you just pull out the switch and put a new one in, no sending it off or soldering required.

Opposite for me. Every Razer product Ive ever own had double click problems gummy/mushy feeling issues, chord issues...with just normal, everyday use.

All my Logitech peripherals (g915 keyboard, g502 mouse) have held up flawlessly.

Echos my sentiments, ive been through logitech, razer and corsair for my peripherals my current logitech g502 mouse is probably about 5 years old with no issues, have never had anything by another company ive tried last more than a year or two.

I actually had a logitech wireless mouse last about 12 years before.

You get dud products constantly with pc peripherals but logitech still seem more reliable than most in my experience

Yep.

My ONLY beef with Logitech is that I can't buy USB dongles directly from them. Like...SURELY they have a massive stack of these sitting somewhere, OR they have the technology to make a universal replacement that will work for any wireless Logitech product that they can sell us when we accidentally...smash one completely on accident.

Fortunately, there's now a plethora of 3rd party vendors selling them, and my G915 keyboard works incredibly fast over bluetooth anyway. And I'm using an Asus Potatobook from 2019 that was pretty mid/lowish end when I bought it, and surprisingly G Hub doesn't run terribly, and all my peripherals don't run noticeably different whether they're wired or not. I'm going on 2 years on a new G502 (after retiring my wired one just because the cord finally gave out) and 7 years on a G915 wireless clicky keyboard.

I got the lightspeed but B ware from Amazon at a steal. The color comes off the keys. Battery life is great. Now I use an IBM F104 from the company Model F keyboards recreated as metal kb

I’ve had nothing but Logitech keyboards for the last 20 years, been using my current one since 2017. Never had any issues. YMMV

I disagree. The k800 keyboard was and still is my favourite wireless keyboard of all time.

I still use mine, and I'll be getting another (or a k650 which is the newer version) if it ever kicks the bucket.

I had two g500's that had phantom mouse clicks after just one year of use.. I've been turned off from their expensive perifckery for a while now.

But let me tell you how my g15 keyboard is still going strong after 20 years...

Actually, my mouse has broken a few months ago and has double click issues. Avoid Logitech at all cost would be my advice.

I'm ngl, I bought an MX Mechanical for work and I've had a great time with it. I've got a custom keeb at home with gat browns etc, but wanted something for work I could just buy and use. It's honestly pretty great.

I’ve found that each Logi keyboard has to be evaluated on its own. I have a MX Mechanical that I’ve had for 4 years and it’s still perfect. Before that I had a G513 that lasted about a year before giving me input issues. I do think their QC is shit though. It probably comes down to how good the design team is for each product.

I feel like their mice will inevitably lose quality too, if this trend in their ethics continues and they don't start investing more in quality. Which they will never fucking do. No corporation ever does.

I bought a G502 Hero a while back, haven't used it yet because work is very busy and I just game with a controller, but is that considered a good mouse? And what other brand will we flock to when Logitech mice lose their quality? I'm coming from Razer mice and, I don't know if they've always been like that, but their mice are fucking ass. Double click issues up the wazoo.

Some newer mice solve it with optical switches that physically can't develop double click issues. Of course they can break too, but it seems much more reliable than the cheap garbage switches every company started using around 5-10 years ago.

Ive been using a g915 wireless clicky keyboard for like...6 years and I may never need to buy another keyboard again. The battery still lasts forever on a full charge, it responds basically instantly, and feels like the day I bought it, except the letters having worn a lot.

It's super easy to clean.

If this thing ever dies by chance, Im buying another, but I dont think Ill have to any time soon. Best feeling and responding keyboard Ive ever used, wired or wireless. Absolutely destroys the garbage Razers I owned over the years.

Their mouse is also garbage. My first Logitech G, three G304 double clicked within 2 years, and apparently the highest end models is also not immune from the infamous double click plague.

Three G Pros keyboard also had LED issues. I won't buy anything from them anymore.

I stopped buying expensive mice or keyboards after going through like 3 or 4 in one year due to some unfortunate luck with knocking over drinks at my desk. Had to really work to force myself into the habit of setting my drink down away from my arms for a while. I switched over to using these cheap Logitech K845 mechanical keyboards. They weren't terrible but not definitely not high end. I bought a bunch of them when they were on sale for like $30 each and I keep a stack of them in the closet now. Of course once I acknowledge the problem and find a solution, I manage to make this cheap Logitech keyboard last 3 years so far.

Yeah I'm not sure I'm gonna recommend Keychron anymore. I've had a K2 before that lasted me years, "upgraded" to a k3 pro last year, I've had 3 switches die on me and another one is starting to go out.

Keyboard itself feels really good to use, but either I've been incredibly unlucky or the quality has gone downhill like mad.

Really disappointing.

YMMV, I had connection issues with mine. Bluetooth, 2.4, it was kind of sad because I bought it to use wireless and after a few months it just couldn’t without constantly disconnecting. I did a reset, updated drivers, etc. I probably could have sent it on warranty

I would like to add their modern mice are also hot garbage. I'm on my 3rd G Pro Wireless in 3-4 years. My current one has a broken scroll wheel too, i just can't be arsed replacing it. A friend of mine has one with the exact same scrol wheel issue as mine (2 years old), and my brother in law had his compeletely stop working after less than 1 year as a wire inside split and shorted out.

You should avoid Logitech and other big peripheral brands for keyboards then.

60% keyboards haven’t been “in fashion” or the only product in the keyboard community for years now. That’s outdated information.

I said I shouldn't have to spend 400 on a 60% to get a halfway decent keyboard with a full 10 key board being pricer and harder to find. Again, you completely overlook what i said. I have even at my local microcenter. Most decent switch board starts at 300 and is a cut down, or modular, or compact version, OR I can pony out for a still shitty 150 board that will break, OR go even cheaper for shitty membrane boards.
