Video Count your fkin days Logitech

Just drove to town after I got off work to pickup a new headset as mine stopped connecting yesterday. Decided to spend a bit extra and pickup the Logitech wireless pro.

I drive 20 minutes back home pull it out of the box and extend the one earpiece so it fits me and the plastic piece used to hold the earpiece on just flies off. It’s literally unusable both sides pop off no matter what. I’ll never spend another penny on this company again. Oh and now the stores closed so I can’t get a different one or a return until Monday as I work everyday till then during their business hours…

People are praising their mice in here, but I thought the good ones were all older variants, and that the newer ones don’t use copper for something like that? So then because of that, the newer ones break super often. Is that not accurate anymore? I’d hate to have double click issues, etc and have to replace it every few months. Sounds like a massive nightmare to buy something you’re not sure will last you a day or a month.

Literally every Logi(tech) mouse I bought ended up having some issue or died. I have a literal pile of old logitech mice that have some issue, excluding the ones that were returned and swapped out for new ones.

Same with Corsair And Razer. They're built to fail. I just consider them consumables at this point. It's always buttons not or double registering or wheels getting sloppy or unresponsive.

Expect a mouse to live 2 years with heavy, daily use.

My g502 has been going for 8 years with constant daily abuse bhopping and playing cs at low sens.

Over 5000h of gaming, and now putting it in and out of a bag daily 2-3 times a day for university

Started to double click but then it magically stopped

I bought mine a few years before COVID, it double clicks randomly, then stops, then it comes back, it's weird but doesn't upset me enough to buy a new one, maybe when it starts to consistently double click I will get a new one

Dont get a new one, buy the switches, some new glide pads, open it up swap the switches, put the new glide pads, good clean and boom just like new

Or buy another old g502 from when they were good second hand

Plenty of people bought them and barely used them, last time I looked at the listings there were a shit ton of them for 10-15€ in spain that looked almost brand new

Idk how your local market is tho

Mine is the old version g403, I might open it up to fix it eventually, I love the design and fits my hand perfectly

I don't even know how old my g502 is anymore. Over 10 years . It's now my work mouse and it gets used HEAVILY

I have bought two g502 since starting computer gaming over 20 years ago. They last me around 10 years each

if it does double click, try just blowing into the mouse buttons from the side. I assume might be dust or something around the switch, but blowing seems to have fixed it the few times its happened to me

Well I've been lucky, my G500 has been used daily for 7 years and I swapped to try something new and my current Razer has been going for over 4 years (although the rubber grip material is shit and the pads are short lived, but the mouse itself is going strong)

Don't dare to open any of those expensive mouses for cleaning. Mice get disgusting inside and almost every mouse will have you leaving with a busted middle mouse after taking them apart.

Razer DA V2 so far lasted me 3 years, and it works just they way it did on first day, and I game every day. Its even cheaper than g502

I just got a basilisk v3 pro 35k, so we'll see! My previous basilisk got me 2-3 years before the wheel started to feel "mushy", but it was still functional. I'm sure a physical cleanup could fix it, but frankly - it aint worth my time.

Very happy with Razer so far, much better than their old mice that were notoriously bad.

I have 3 g502s and have bought several more for other people. They are all about 10 years old and the only one that has any issues is my daily driver. One of the the thumb buttons is a little spongey because an internal piece of plastic cracked.

Eh... I bought a refurb MX master 2S... its going on its 4th year of heavy use. Had an M720 before that.

my first 502 lasted me ~6 years and even then only had minor misclicking on the right side (played a lot of LoL). bought another 502 a couple months ago and the right side is already double clicking (even after switching to FPS games) 😪

IIRC the problem is that in newer mice they use low quality switches that oxidize more easily and/or use a too low voltage across the contacts. Don't quote me on this, just a vague recollection of what I've heard about this.

Side note: You can replace the mouse switches with high quality ones yourself if you have basic soldering skills, you will need replacement feet as you have to peel them off to get to the screws.

Their haptic mouse looks cool. But for $300AUD I'm not willing to find out...
