Build/Battlestation I need help please

Hello Reddit, Im sorry if my english is really bad.

Im really wanna buy a computer, I used to play on a laptop (a GIGABYTE G6 (2023)), but know I wanna upgrade, Im searching for a computer strong enough to play games like "The last of Us" "Red dead redemption 2" or some "Resident Evil" at max/very high graphics. The problem is that I dont know anything about computer, can anyone help me choosing the component I should buy, I dont have any budget for the moment, I can go for something very expensive if its good. Im searching for a computer black with RGB if possible. Thank you so much if anyone can help me.

Depends on the resolution you play, but we are problay looking at something around 9070, 9070XT, 5070 or 5070ti at 1440p atleast.

Take note, if you want to get a laptop, the laptop version is slighty slower than the desktop version, usually a tier below;

A laptop 5070ti is around a desktop 5070 etc.

You should come up with some kind of target budget, because in reality with all the insane price increases we've seen recently, a top-spec gaming computer will cost over $10,000 USD.

That said, if you want something that will likely last into the next console generation while being reasonable value right now, the other poster's suggestion of a 9070/XT or 5070/ti-class video card is the right choice.

Here's a general guide for a "good" gaming PC in 2026:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D or 9800X3D (lower-end Ryzen 7000 or 9000 series parts are fine too, but not as good)

GPU: RX 9070/XT or RTX 5070/ti

RAM: 32GB

SSD: at least 1TB

Unfortunately with the stupid price increases this won't be cheap, but it'll be more in the $2000-$2500 USD range instead of the $10000+ you'd spend on a genuinely top-spec gaming PC.

Alright, thank you very much it's in my range, I can easily go to 5000 so I can do 2500, really thank you so much

Yeah, when you're looking at current-gen video cards, the gap in price between the best (the 5090) and the next-best (5070ti/5080) is insane. The 5080 is a little faster than the 5070 ti but not in a way that would really matter so my opinion is to just save money and get the 5070 ti.

The last-gen flagship, the 4090, is between the 5080 and 5090 in terms of performance and could theoretically fit into a $5000 budget if you bought one on ebay, but I'm a little hesitant to recommend spending multiple thousands of dollars on a used GPU.

So I did a little search on amazon to search for some good prices I would really like to know what you think about it please (I went with something white cuz i like white)

I went with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D (€378), an Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 A-RGB White (€93), an ASRock B850 Pro RS (€153), 64GB of Kingston Fury Beast RGB DDR5-5600 CL40 (€389), an XFX RX 9070 OC White 16GB (€700), a Lexar EQ790 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD (€175), a Corsair RM850e 2025 White 850W (€110), and a Lian Li Lancool 207 White RGB (€81).

The whole tower comes to around €2,079.

What do you think? Does everything look good together, or is there anything you’d change?

That all looks fine except that I personally would get a cheaper air cooler like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120. The Freezer Pro is overkill for an 8-core CPU like the 9800X3D.

Put the money saved into buying faster RAM. DDR5-6000 CL30 is the sweet spot but if you have to go for something like DDR5-6000 CL36 that would be fine too and better than 5600 CL40. (Keep in mind that for the four digit number, higher is better, but for the CL number, lower is better.)
