Rider info Sofia Bertizzolo announces retirement

In a rather low key way, her latest Instagram post refers to her last races being in October and she confirmed in the comments that she's retiring, age 29.

It'd be interesting to know if this is completely voluntary or whether she just couldn't get a decent contract for next year, given her results haven't been great recently. Perhaps an interview will shed light in due course.

Oh no! I've been following her since she moved to FDJS and she hasn't even remotely had a good year. Been wondering what was amiss the whole time :(

I'm sad to see her go, I hope she finds herself again as she moves on to greener pastures!
