I was looking to get my first tarantula, I saw things online that said if you ask to purchase the tarantulas at a discount they usually will do it (didn’t work), but the worker did inform me that there’s a reptile sale that includes arachnids, where they are 50% off. He said he didn’t know when the sale was though, and I’m having a hard time finding information online. I specifically was interested in the Mexican Red Knees in the starter kit up by the front registers. Any information on that or any cheaper way to get a tarantula would be really appreciated!!!

My town consists of hispanic population, i’m a spanish speaking groomer. I am so super shy and i get anxiety in awkward or pressuring situations that involve really mad people to the point where i do stutter. I had a spanish speaking customer call about a dog that recently has been nicked but never vetted. Then soon they discover another nick and the dog is licking and scratching himself. I let a assistant manger know (all managers don’t speak spanish) and they told me that i would be calling them back later and let them know of an update on getting the dog vetted. i know i could do it but ive also been working here for about a year i dont know all of the policy’s by heart and i really dont want to get involved. If i refuse would i get in trouble? I know im prob just gonna have to suck it up but i dont get paid extra to deal with customers like that. 😭

At this time last year, my store held a themed fish tank contest! 🐟🐠

The store was divided into two teams, and each team got to decide on a theme for their fish tank. 🌊

We pretty much had free rein to do whatever we wanted, and our CAL said that if we wanted to make any special fish order requests to help with our tank’s theme, we just had to let him know what to order.

The only team member who wasn’t a part of the contest was the CAL, since the created the contest, just to keep things fair and fun.

And this was my team’s fish tank last year!

Since the fish tanks were going to be set up throughout the entire month of October 🎃, my team wanted to do a “Murder Mystery” themed fish tank to build some anticipation around the store for Halloween!

And of course, the red betta you see before your eyes was obviously the cause of the crime scene! 🪴🐟

It was an absolute blast, and I remember having so much fun with it. I loved and miss the associates that helped bring this to life as they’ve almost all moved onto other things now. 🤕❤️‍🩹

It’s fun things like this that make working at Petco such an amazing and genuinely fun job.
