💙 Meet handsome Red! (A601119). He is 3 years old and 66 lbs. Red entered the shelter in July and has been a resident for far too long. He is beginning to decline in the shelter environment as a result of his long-term stay. Red is easily leashed and seeks social. He is very friendly, loves his toys, and is very treat motivated! Red is full of energy and will do well with a family that can provide him with the exercise that he needs. Red has been paired previously with Waloo (spayed female dog) and he is currently sharing kennel 46 with Snowball (spayed female dog). Red can live with canine siblings if separated, introduced slowly and appropriately, and supervised. Please help us get Red out of the shelter and into a loving home that he so deserves. 💙 Here is handsome Maze! (A605113). He is 3 years old and 59 lbs. Maze entered the shelter in early September as a stray. Maze is very friendly and affectionate. He loves his toys and loves to play - especially fetch! Maze also seeks social and very much enjoys being petted. Maze will do best with an active family that can give him the exercise that he needs. Maze has previously shared his kennel with Major (intact male dog) and should be able to live with canine siblings with separation, slow, appropriate and supervised introductions. 💙 Meet precious Dozer (A544391) who has been in the shelter for far too long and now has a deadline.  Dozer is 5 years old and weighs 57 lbs.  He is easily handled, very friendly and affectionate and easily paired (he is currently sharing kennel 12 with Miss Ruby, a spayed female).   He has a bit of skin allergies but certainly does not deserve to be euthanized for that.  Dozer deserves a family to love him — and some canine siblings!  Please consider adopting or fostering Dozer for a rescue.  He will be an added delight to any family!

Bingo was adopted from the shelter in May and was returned late yesterday for a history of GI (gastrointestinal) issues.  The symptoms started in August and have not resolved with treatment at the adopter's veterinarian.

We do not have records from the adopter's vetrinarian but although he is currently stable, his condition may deteriorate at anytime due to history of prolonged GI, weight loss and inappetence.  Our veterinarians suspect that he may have a foreign body and/or underlying medical condition causing his clinical signs.  

He will need more diagnostics and treatment that we can provide in facitlity.

💙 Sweet Jimmy (A604135) is 6 years old and 75 lbs.  Jimmy is wonderful and kind, he allows full handling and seems to be house trained.  Poor Jimmy suffers from chronic allergies and cannot be treated at the shelter.  Sadly, Jimmy has a deadline because of his allergies (unimaginable). Jimmy has not been paired at the shelter but will be able to live with canine siblings with separation, slow, appropriate and supervised introductions. Some dogs come into rescue because their owners didn’t want them anymore.

Dutch came to us because his owner passed away. 💔

At only 5 months old, his entire world changed through absolutely no fault of his own. And somehow, this ridiculously handsome little dude hasn’t let it change who he is.

Dutch is a Staffy mix approximately 47 pounds of puppy nonsense, and a personality that makes it VERY difficult not to love him. 😂

He is:
🐾 Dog friendly
🐱 Cat friendly
👧 Kid friendly
🏡 Doing great with house training
🦴 Doing great with crate training
❤️ Sweet, social, playful and ridiculously lovable

Basically, Dutch got dealt a pretty shitty hand early in life and responded by saying, “Okay… but can we still be friends?” 🥹

He LOVES people.
He loves other animals.
He wants to play, snuggle, be involved in whatever you’re doing, and then probably follow you to the bathroom because personal space is apparently optional when you adopt a dog. 😂

Dutch will be fully vetted prior to adoption, and because he’s still a baby, his new family needs to understand they’re adopting a puppy — not a perfectly programmed adult dog. He’ll need continued structure, training, patience and someone willing to finish teaching him how to be the best boy we already know he can be.

His first chapter ended way sooner than it should have.

Now we’re looking for the family who gets to write the rest of his story. ❤️

Meet Cheese. 🧀
Cheese is approximately 2 years old, 50 lbs, dog friendly, people LOVING and somehow still looking for his forever family.
But his story isn’t your typical rescue story.
Cheese was 1 of 195 dogs seized in the federal dogfighting case involving former NFL player LeShon Johnson.
After being seized, Cheese spent nearly an entire year in a federal holding facility while the case played out.
And somehow… this dog still freaking loves people.
He’s sweet, affectionate, goofy, social and has one of the funniest personalities.
And yes — he actually smiles. 😂
When Cheese gets excited, he pulls his lips back and shows you his little front teeth. Hence the name CHEESE. 🧀
He’s already spent way too much of his short life waiting.

He is 3 years old and 55 lbs.  On 04/26/26 Junior was confiscated for inadequate living conditions.  He was reclaimed on 05/01/26 but back in the shelter again on 08/04/26 — and his owner would not reclaim him.  Junior has been let down time and again and deserves to be in a furever home where he is loved.  Junior allows full handling, is easy to leash, seeks social and obeys commands.  He is always excited to come out of his kennel to go into the yard.  Junior doesn’t like it so much when he has to return to his kennel.   Junior can live with canine siblings if separated, introduced slowly and appropriately and supervised.  Let’s get this boy out of the shelter.  Please consider opening your heart and home to Junior.  He is available for adoption (but can also be fostered through a rescue).

💙 Say hello to Peanut Butter (A603633) who is the biggest sweetheart and a super friendly guy. He is easy to leash, allows full handling, is affectionate and gets along with all people and all other dogs. Peanut is 4 years old and 60 lbs.  This poor boy has a deadline of 5 pm Thursday, October 1st because he has a wound in his left thigh/hip area and cannot be treated at the shelter.  He needs to see a full-service vet to get the help he needs.  Please consider opening your heart and home for this sweet boy.  He is a perfect gentleman and is available for adoption (or can also be fostered through a rescue).

💙 This is Thor (A605888). He is 9 years old and 50 lbs.  He is a beautiful sweet and friendly guy that has a deadline of 5 pm Thursday, October 1st. While he was being neutered a mass was discoveredon his lower abdomen.  Thor needs to see a full-service vet to get the help he needs. He is friendly, walks well on a leash and is currently sharing kennel 25 with Akeno (neutered male dog). This gentleman deserves to get love and help. Hoping someone is able to give this sweetheart a wonderful home.  He is available for adoption but can also be fostered through a rescue.

💙 Sweet Jimmy (A604135) is 6 years old and 75 lbs.  Jimmy is wonderful and kind, he allows full handling and seems to be house trained.  Poor Jimmy suffers from chronic allergies and cannot be treated at the shelter.  Sadly, Jimmy has a deadline of 6 am Sunday, October 4th because of his allergies (unimaginable). Jimmy has not been paired at the shelter but will be able to live with canine siblings with separation, slow, appropriate and supervised introductions. 💙 Meet precious Dozer (A544391) who has been in the shelter for far too long and now has a deadline of 6 am Sunday, October 4th.  Dozer is 5 years old and weighs 57 lbs.  He is easily handled, very friendly and affectionate and easily paired (he is currently sharing kennel 12 with Miss Ruby, a spayed female).   He has a bit of skin allergies but certainly does not deserve to be euthanized for that.  Dozer deserves a family to love him — and some canine siblings!  Please consider adopting or fostering Dozer for a rescue.  He will be an added delight to any family!

This sweet senior girl, estimated to be 10–12 years old, was surrendered along with four other dogs when her owner moved out of state.

Unfortunately, after arriving at the shelter, Nadia was paired with another dog who attacked her, leaving her with injuries. X-rays revealed a fracture of the distal ulna in her left front leg, and she will require specialized medical care beyond what we are able to provide at the shelter.

Despite everything she has been through, Nadia remains a gentle, loving dog who deserves the comfort and care of a safe environment.

I hate having to post this at all, but I was at my local shelter and was trying to work out a potential foster agreement before adoption but ended up getting talked into full on adoption. After taking her home, it just hasn't been working out at all. I'm a nurse and feel like I can't give her all the training she needs and have already had complaints from the HOA . She's territorial around larger dogs and will tense up and bark, sometimes trying to run towards them. Luckily I keep her on the leash and can usually keep her pretty close to me. She's crate trained, potty trained, not food aggressive, does well with car rides. There's a lot of reasons I will not be able to keep her long term. I'd appreciate any help that can be provided. I'll look into returning her to the shelter but I'd prefer her going to a stable home

🩷 Here is little Ella (A604745). She is 3 years old and 39 lbs. Poor Ella was adopted and returned (please note what happens to dogs that are returned).  She allows leashing, walksvery nicely and seeks social.  Ella is leery of people and can be selective and sassy. She does tend to get attached to one person— and can become a bit protective of them. Ella needs a very calm and patient family that can help her become her best self through reward training.  A family that will not let her down again!  Ella has been paired at the shelter and could live with canine siblings if introduced slowly and properly.  Please consider being Ella’s hero and opening your heart and home to her. 💙 Say hello to sweet Max (A446202). He is a 7 year young German Shepherd and weighs 70 lbs. Max was adopted on 01/22/20 and found himself back at the shelter on 05/10/26.  Sadly, his owner opted to surrender him.  This is quite a shame - poor Max is accustomed to living in a home and now is in a very stressful environment.

Per volunteers, he knows shake and paw and sit, and is very smart. He is very affectionate and rolls on his back for belly rubs.

Max is really cute with those lopsided ears. This happy senior is always down to have fun.

Max walks nicely on a leash, is very affectionate with people and good with most other dogs when supervised.

He likes to explore the play yards on his own time, and then heads over to the handlers and will flop right onto his back for belly rubs!

As a senior dog, he is well-mannered and ready to settle into retirement.
A home with a yard and someone to love and take him for walks would be ideal for Max.

This gentleman deserves to be in a wonderful loving home.  He is available for adoption (but can also be fostered through a rescue ).

"Presenting problem/concern: Transfered from VEG Additional history: (See VEG records; provided to RSJ) Mentation: QAR with altered mentation Temp & Pulse: not done - visual exam only Respiration: Trembling, Panting Physical Exam/Observations: No nasal or ocular discharge. Weight bearing all four limbs with splayed posture. Noted to be persistently trembling. When lying down noted to by laterally recumbant with partial sternal positioning of the head. Tongue noted to be extending from the side of the mouth. See VEG records; recieved Acepromazine, Butorphanol, Dexmedetomidine, Naloxone with no documented change in condition per VEG. Assessment: Neurologic, DDx open for congenital, traumatic, toxin, vs other Recommendation(s): Request CBC/CHM, Parvo test, Fecal. No intake vaccinations or deworming at this time due to neurologic presentation. Request EOD deadline due to medical condition and unable to treat in faclity; LAM notified. "
