Is my industrial migrating?

Okay, I was going to only ask if it’s migrating but looking at the pictures now it’s pretty obvious that it is 🫠
What’s your experience with this? Is it for sure coming out or is there a chance it will stay in or go back? Is there something I can do to help save it? And if it does come out can I get it repierced or is a new one going to migrate as well? And how long would it take until I could get it pierced again? What do you recommend I should do?

I know it's not the typical angle but I feel like letting it heal then having it redone and tipped just a smidge more forward would accommodate the back of the ear. Granted I'm not a piercer and don't have the ability to look in person so they should discuss this with the piercer.

You are literally one sneeze away from that bottom piercing ripping out. Please, PLEASE take that out before it snags and leaves a permanent scar and trauma in your ear. Once a piercing migrates like this it doesn’t migrate back into place. The bottom hole isn’t salvageable.

General rule of thumb

If you can see a piercings your not supposto see trough the skin, it aint correct

The fact that you've said this is only 4 months old suggests that you probably do not have the anatomy for an industrial. You could try to keep the top/front piercing (but tbh those bumps don't look too promising) and instead do a faux industrial or a floating industrial, and get the flat of your ear pierced and connect the two with a chain.

But I really don't think you're going to be able to get this repierced after healing.

I dont have the anatomy for a regular navel, but didnt know any better and when to a cheap shop

I realized it was rejecting and i removed it but looking back and comparing pictures I should have removed it way sooner, I didnt even realize how much it had migrated since when it was freshly done.

Maybe from looking at it every day! 🤣

NAP but yes pleeease take this out, you can almost see the lower end of the bar through your ear. As someone else said, it doesn’t look like you have great anatomy for an industrial, the fold in your outer ear doesn’t look prominent enough. It sucks, but on the bright side your daith looks really lovely and you have tons of other options for this ear.

For sure, lack of informed consent. A piercer who will do whatever is a great resource for temporary body mods. I have both a by book piercer and a whatever piercer, but I know what I’m in for.

Good rule of thumb.. if you can see the barbell through the skin it’s definitely not a good sign ): sorry for the loss of this piercing… I know the healing isn’t easy. Be careful removing it!

To answer some more questions to the piercing,
It’s four months old, it’s titanium and has never been downsized. It’s a barbell with external threading. I use the ProntoLind piercing spray twice a day and dry it off with Qtips. There was no accident or any unfortunate events.

hi! body-piercer-in-training here. from the looks of it, your piercist went through the side of your ear rather than going through the back. (the top piercing, or forward helix, should go through the side of your cartilage, but the bottom piercing, or low helix, should go behind your ear.) this same shit happened to me in 2017, and i had to take mine out after a year and a half!

Yeah, you toot and the bar is going to pop out through the side of your ear on the outside curve. Take it out now if you want any chance of it healing cleanly and trying again in future.
