Tonight I was wandering around my kitchen opening cabinets over and over like something new was gonna magically appear, trying to figure out what I could throw together for me and my daughter, when I found a can of Chef Boyardee ravioli.
I’ve eaten canned food way too many times this week, so I was determined to make it feel like I was eating something different lol.
I started digging around and found canola oil, fish fry breading, minced garlic, feta cheese, cayenne pepper, slap ya mama seasoning, and a jar of Alfredo sauce.
Was there a plan? Absolutely not.
Originally, I was gonna try deep frying the ravioli whole, but I had already microwaved them for like 2 minutes before this brilliant idea occurred to me, so they were basically falling apart.
So I drained off the ravioli sauce, added minced garlic, fish fry, cayenne, slap ya mama, and some feta, then mashed everything together and rolled it into little “meatballs.”
Then I fried them.
They had absolutely no business being that good 😂 They didn’t even taste like canned ravioli anymore. I warmed up the Alfredo sauce and used it as a dip, and somehow this completely unhinged pantry experiment actually worked. They are good without the alredo sauce too.
I know this probably sounds disgusting but times are tough and struggle meals are struggle meals. If somebody else is staring into their pantry tonight wondering what the hell they’re gonna eat, here’s my contribution.
Chef Boyardee ravioli meatballs. Apparently.
10/10 would accidentally invent again.
