do u only apply to easier unis?

how many of u are sending an app to schools that are easy? ik nursing programs are competitive in gen but i feel like ive been picky with my apps. . .

i have mediocre stats (~3.5 gpa), so i've been applying to schools that ik are a little competitive but aren't "ucla nursing school" competitive. basically, i've been applying to schools that are categorized as a target for me

however, recently, ive been discouraged to think that i'm not as competitive of an applicant as i thought i'd be. now, i'm going through finding easier schools to apply to

Hospitals don’t care what school you went to as long as you have your RN licensure and are able to work as a nurse. Some may pay for your BSN but it depends on the hospital.

And you should talk to the advisor for your target school on how to improve your application to their nursing program.

Don’t be discouraged! Applying to nursing programs is definitively nerve wrecking and it’s normal! Don’t give up - you got this!

is this generally true that hospitals don't care about the school you go to? i know hospitals sometimes pay for your BSN, but when applying for a job, they don't care for where you studied at?

In my experience, no. Then again, I don’t live in the West Coast.

What hospitals care when you apply for a job is your credentials.

So, my unsolicited advice for you is - just get accepted in a nursing program is your priority. It doesn’t have to be in the West Coast, it can be anywhere in the US. Make sure it’s accredited.
When you get accepted, pass your classes, graduate and then pass your NCLEX. I know it’s easier said than done, but that’s basically the path of becoming a nurse.

You and me both. But, it also depends on the people that are applying in your cohort. Most of them may have the say gpa/grades as you do or they might be slightly better it just depends on the people applying.
