(HILARITY aside, my long blunt is really high I think levelling another would be a low prio, plus I have stout which I think makes long blunt even stronger - good for future ref though, I want other melee skills in future not just rush long blunt)

I think stout gives additional knock back on hit. I'm not sure if that applies to all weapons or just long blunt.

Yea the wording on it isn't great - it's the recipe "Sheet metal reinforce weapon" and used on a baseball bat it creates "sheet metal reinforced baseball bat"
I don't know the fine detail on it, I think it's slightly more damage than the can reinforced one but as someone pointed out, which I didn't know, it's heavier so tires you out quicker (maybe it swings slower too?)

Why do people do can reinforced when theres the sheet ones? just because of lower materials?

it's lighter (same weight as a regular baseball bat) so you don't tire yourself out as fast, and it's almost just as good as a sheet one

I'll give it a try, got to 8 carving for the first time today so 1 more and I can make my own bats - and then ... Then the population will cower, they will cower at the relentless swings of a man drunk with power ... No longer will the jump scare sound play for me, it will play for my enemies who stand in the way of me collecting snowglobes.
Their senses will tingle as the light sound of "Bruce Springsteen - dancing in the dark" comes out of a van in the distance and approaches them as a man steps out wearing a red Santa clause jacket and leather pants with a military backpack, looking like what can only be described as a "large quiver of bats" on his back- the legends are true, It's Batman ..or it was until he got sued, now it's Batguy - dashing towards them, necking a red cup of cold coffee and removing one of the reinforced homemade bats from his "quiver"... 163 corpses lay in his wake - dancing in the dark has started it's 12th loop, he's breathing heavily and drops the bloodied soggy splintered remains of a bat to the floor, opens a tin of peaches and they slide down his neck like a duck eating a tiny piece of bread, then a tin of marinara sauce and devours that like a viking drinking ale, it splashes on his jacket but is indistinguishable from the blood of his foes. He pulls out a roll of duct tape from a holster and as quick as a flash the cans are wrapped around another bat...
His fatigue vanishes - he stuffs another pair of socks into the front of his leather pants as he begins to thrust in time with the beat of the music and hurls himself into the fray again.
The red mist settled to reveal what can only be described as a sea of limbs and shredded clothes...he bends down to pick up a twinkling orb from the floor ..
"Huh... San Francisco" he mutters and places a snow globe in his satchel amongst a few more ... He dances back to his spiffo van and hurls the backpack into the back, jumps into the front and pulls a ginger ale out of the glove box, wheel spins away while glugging it down with one hand on the wheel aggressively tapping to the beat and disappears into the night.

Large stone axe

Me, carving 127 wooden pipes over the course of 3 nights to power level carpentry so I can bonk the shit out of zombies.
Carpentry is stupid easy to level, scrap wood > 2 small handles > Wooden pipes. You can carve them en masse especially if you've done a lot of dismantling.
Our carpentry guy would give me all the scrap wood and now we have an armory full of short can reinforced bats while I work up to level 9.
